Master of Arts Roosevelt University Educational Administration and Supervision
Bachelor of Arts Northeastern Illinois University Mathematics Title of Dissertation The Relationship of Cognitive Styles of Educational
Administrators to Their
Perceived Managerial Styles
Differentiated teaching is now expected in all classroom settings. The basis for that expectation is the various learning styles students exhibit daily in school settings. My dissertation explored the different learning styles based on significant work by Dr. Anthony Gregorc, a personal mentor. My approach to instructional methodology has a foundation in learning style research. WORK EXPERIENCE

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Ø High level of student achievement. As high school principal, I established all the advanced placement courses at Stevenson High School. Recently Newsweek magazine reported that Stevenson High School has one of the most successful advanced placement programs in the nation. After four years in my first superintendency, students’ ACT scores were among the best in the state of Illinois. As superintendent in Niles, I participated in the First in the World Consortium. We proved that our students could compete with the best of the world in math and science.
Ø Successful passage of 12 of 14 referendums. I passed six referendums in New York and six in Illinois. The successful passage of these referendums demonstrated the support of the communities towards education.
Ø Contribution in successful building projects. Niles just completed $119 million expansion and renovation project. Berwyn just completed a $60 million building project, including a new middle school. West Chicago completed a $35 million expansion project. Ø Recruitment and employment of numerous outstanding educators. The most important thing any administrator does is hire great teachers to be with students. I am proud of the teachers that I have been able to recruit and employ over the years. Ø Successful consolidation of three elementary districts and the resulting benefits to students and the community. The elementary district that I represented included 500 military children from Fort Sheridan. Because of the successful passage of a referendum, all students in my prior district received equal access to a quality education.
