Professional Profile

I am seeking employment that allows the skills and talents I have cultivated over time to resonate with those that I work with and those whom I work for in order to foster a positive working environment where growth is measured both in human capital and profit. In addition to the degrees I earned from Rutgers University and St. Mary’s School of Law, I am extremely confident in my ability to connect with people and that, I believe, is my greatest asset. No matter the industry, the relationships that you build with your colleagues

. and clients will be the distinguishing factor.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor of Arts in Political Science

Rutgers University, Camden, New Jersey. 2006

Juris Doctorate

St. Mary’s University School of Law, San Antonio, Texas. 2010 Key Qualifications

Served as General Counsel for several oil and gas companies between the years of 2011-2017.

As part of my duties, I personally handled permitting, planning budgeting, organizing, and leading a team of engineers and foremen for new and existing drilling projects across Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and West Virginia. This included visiting sites ahead of time to vet the premises and the locale to ensure that projects would run as smoothly as possible.

Additionally, I served as liaison to different state and regulatory agencies that govern the oil and gas industry. This would require expediting certain permit applications and making sure that the applicable fees and other pertinent information was disseminated to the proper agency or other governing office in a timely and efficient manner as well as communicating plans and submitting applications outlining our operations when it was required.

I planned, communicated, coordinated and executed plans with the engineers, foremen, and construction and drilling teams to ensure their safety was prioritized and to ensure the project team was in compliance with the stated goals of the project. This required constant communication and coordination with the project engineers to understand the specifications of the project and identify what permits and authorizations would be necessary to not only ensure the project is given the green light to begin but also for project completion. This would always require gathering all the necessary parties within the jurisdiction of the project location in order to have a “meeting of the minds” to ensure that everyone who needed to be made aware of the technical specifications and equipment for the project were properly made aware and to ensure that the permit requirements were established in writing as to prevent any surprises or miscommunications as the project develops. This included the ability to read and interpret data provided to me by our engineers and foremen to be able to quickly pivot our operations effectively to keep the project moving on budget and on time.

I would regularly visit the project sites to visit with foremen and engineers to ensure continued compliance with permit requirements and also to serve as corporate presence for the job site. Job site locations included Texas (Permian Basin, Delaware Basin, Eagle Ford Shale Group), New Mexico (Delaware Basin), Utah (Chainman Shale), Nevada (Chainman Shale), and West Virginia (Marcellus Shale) and Pennsylvania (Marcellus Shale).

In navigating the planning, permitting, and authorization of each drill site, I became proficient with the federal, state, and local agencies that govern the process for each state. These agencies included, but was not limited to, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), the Railroad Commission of Texas

(RRC), and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), in addition to the countless municipalities and general “red tape” associated with these kinds of projects.

The projects I worked on ranged from the “start of construction” phase of a project that required presenting initial engineering blueprints, the re-opening of inactive wells, air permits that require information on any and all contaminants that will be emitted during the pendency of the project, all the way through the clean-up and “plugging” of the well. I kept up to date information on any changes made to the applicable laws and statues that affected the permitting and health and safety requirements to ensure the safety of the project team was prioritized and that the stated goals of each project were in compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws. This included becoming certified to read opacity levels and calculate emissions for our sites to ensure that it did not surpass the allotted emissions allotted for each project.

Employment

EHS Director

October 2023-Present

My role within the company has afforded me the opportunity to assume a leadership position in fostering and cultivating vital relationships with governmental agencies and supporting businesses within the energy sector and beyond. In addition to bearing the sole responsibility for procuring, managing, and ensuring compliance with governmental permits to maintain uninterrupted company operations, my responsibilities encompass various facets.

I oversee the implementation of health and safety protocols for employees across our four sites, ensuring adherence to regulations such as MSHA, OSHA, TxDot, and TCEQ compliance. Furthermore, my role extends to the drafting and submission of policies related to health, safety, and environmental matters. These policies serve the dual purpose of fostering a safe working environment for our employees and promoting environmental consciousness and awareness at our sites. Simultaneously, I actively contribute to advancing our company's ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives at the senior board level.

Additionally, my position requires me to act as a liaison for public relations within our communities, ensuring that our business upholds its reputation as a responsible corporate citizen in each of our respective locales. Given the considerable autonomy inherent in my role, I operate with minimal guidance or supervision, a testament to my proven track record as a self-starter.
