BACKGROUNDER
In my first project, I developed
a backgrounder for BlackBerry.
It includes the key information,
history and the fall down of
BlackBerry.
This was part of a collaborative
Media Kit assignment that I
worked on with my partner.
Climate Action Network Canada (CAN-
Rac) is deeply troubled by Canada’s response
to the ICJ’s ruling on Gaza. Canada must
acknowledge and support the ICJ's mea-
sures to protect Palestinians. It should end
arms sales to Israel, support a ceasefire, and
oppose the occupation. CAN-Rac is shocked
by Canada's suspension of funding for UN-
RWA, urging Canada to halt arms exports to
Israel and support ICJ's measures for peace.
This is crucial for climate justice and human
rights. CAN-Rac calls on Canada to be a
leader in human rights and peace.
Climate organizations welcome Cana-
da's draft regulations to reduce methane
emissions from the oil and gas sector by at
least 75% below 2012 levels by 2030. They
emphasize that methane is a potent green-
house gas and eliminating its emissions is
crucial. They call for swift implementation
of the regulations, along with strong regula-
tions to cap and cut all emissions from the
oil and gas industry. The ultimate goal is to
phase out fossil fuel production. This move
is seen as essential for climate justice and
human rights, aligning with global efforts
towards a fossil fuel phase-out.
Climate Action Network Canada (CAN-Rac)
calls on the federal government to prioritize
low-income households and invest in solutions
that respond to people's needs while reducing
emissions. They criticize the lack of mention of
climate action in Minister Freeland's Fall Eco-
nomic Statement, especially after a summer of
record wildfires. CAN-Rac emphasizes the need
for solutions like heat pumps, retrofits, and public transportation, and urges an approach that puts
people first, addresses the housing crisis, and
ensures big polluters pay their fair share. While
they welcome the commitment to prohibit gre-
enwashing, they are concerned about locking in
subsidies to the fossil fuel sector and emphasize
the need for a strong emissions cap. CAN-Rac
also highlights the importance of including in-
dependent climate experts in developing a green

Important steps towards transforming the planet into a happy place NEWS LETTER
This is the second project for which I
designed a newsletter using InDesign
software as part of the assignment.
Throughout the project, I incorporated
hyperlinks for all the articles mentioned.
NEWS RELEASE
The third project is a press
release I crafted for a writing
assignment, focusing on Pet
Valu.
The press release aims to
restore the brand's image,
which was destroyed due to a
specific product.
Thank you
