Previous Work History

Lead Superintendent – BAE Systems, San Diego, CA – 02/2011 to12/2015. At BAE I was assigned to the Continuous Maintenance for the DDG class of ships. My duties included assigning teaming members providing period of performance schedules, ensure all TIPS were accomplished. I was then promoted to Lead Superintendent in charge of EDSRA, DSRA, and SRA’S. As a Lead Superintendent my duties included assisting in developing the open plan schedule for all teaming members, identifying critical path items and how it will affect the overall open plan, and what recovery methods to be used to get back on schedule. I was trained in contracts, JFMM, and the FAR on these manuals that pertain to ship repair. I also had to develop Microsoft Project presentations for weekly meetings with the Ship and BAE management. I also conducted training with my Superintendents on what the STD-ITEMS are and how they impact our repair activities, also training on how to use IMS and other tools to ensure that they are prepared to answer questions from our teaming members, also training on how to read and accept CFR’S from teaming members to ensure if the CFR’S require COPA’S and to make sure that they get advanced quickly and effectively.

General Foreman – Pacific Ship Repair, San Diego, CA – 10/1998 to 01/2011. I started as a Journey Man Ship Fitter/Welder, after 6 months I was promoted to Lead Man for the Structural Department and Sheet Metal Department, setting up priorities on what was urgent in order to keep equipment online. While being in charge of sheet metal, I had to fabricate vent duct from sketches and existing vent using standard Ship building practices. I worked on all types of Naval Vessels including LCAC at Camp Pendleton. I then was promoted to General Foreman, I was in charge of 32nd Street Naval Station of all Ships in which we had contracts on. My duties included schedule man-power, materials, attending daily ship meetings for our Program Manager. I would write CFR’s to include man-hours, material cost, shop fabrication, I also provided accurate daily, weekly updates while working within the provided man-hours and material cost.

Structural Estimator – National Steel and Shipbuilding – 10/1990 to 10/1998. I started as a Journey 1 (Ship Builder Welder) working on Stage 1 of new construction. Two years later I was promoted to Structural Foreman and moved to New Construction Outfitting, duties included develop production schedules with a 4-hour break down, set up inspections with the ABS and United States Coast Guard. Set up erection schedules for the blocks and Grand Blocks to be erected. In 1994 I was promoted to advance planner/scheduler, my duties included planning for new construction of contracts that were 1-2 years out, including long lead time materials, input for all trade budgets and man-hours, I also was tasked to schedule structural and sheet metal and pipe fitting/welding for emergent repair activities.
