This involved helping with certification, new teacher courses, and first- and second-year portfolios. I also often gave presentations on relevant Professional Development. I coordinated all local, district, and state testing for the school, including training the staff, administration of the exams, and preparation and packaging of materials. I worked on the intervention team with special education students who spoke English as a second language.

I served as an administrative teacher leader. I gave professional development training sessions and staff evaluations, managed student data, and managed discipline.

August 2010-November 2012: Intensive Reading Teacher Apopka High School Grades 11th-12th- I taught remedial reading to students trying to pass the FCAT, SAT, or ACT to pass for graduation. I worked with students on benchmarks, standards, and objectives in the Sunshine State Standards. In addition, I taught reading strategies, used computer-based reading interventions, and managed student behaviors.

Jan 2010-June 2010: Jackson Middle School: Reading Coach: Duties included keeping data records of school reading records, modeling lessons, professional development, coaching teachers, administering benchmark tests, working with FAIR data, data analysis, and serving as a part of the administrative team doing various managerial and behavior team duties.

August 2006-Jan 2010: Kissimmee Middle School: 6th-grade READ 180 and 8th-grade intensive reading teacher. I taught reading in a 90-minute time for students who scored 1 or 2 on the FCAT.

August 2005- May 2006-Poinciana Elementary School, a 4th-grade teacher. I work with 31 students in a diverse, multicultural classroom with ESE (Special Education) and English as a Second Language (ESOL) students. I teach all subjects in an inclusive type setting.

October 2004-June 2005-I worked with an After School Program for grades K-4. I tutored students with homework. I supervised Project Based Learning, where the students engaged in technology-based projects researched on the Internet. I implemented an Internet-based learning system called “KidBiz 3000” that works with the National Reading Panel and National Writing Commission to improve student reading and language arts performance. I also worked on-site with the social service coordinator to foster social development with the youth and their families. I coordinated the “Saturday Exploration Academy” designed for youth K-12 to learn and explore many different topics and subject matter.

June 2003-September 2003-Academy for Child Development-Summer lead teacher for preschool ages 4 and 5. I developed thematic units, activities, and lesson plans. In addition, I completed newsletters for parents and calendars of events and activities to display on our school website.

March 2003-June 2003-Hands on Science teacher. I participated in a grant program exposing Title 1 students to an immersion into Science. I taught 5th-grade students many experiments from every area. In addition, I supplied statistical information from these teachings for scientific research.

August 1998-May 1999– North Kissimmee Christian School and 4th-grade teacher. This was a unique teaching experience because I taught two different grade levels with students ranging in academic abilities. The A Beki curriculum I taught stressed heavy phonics, cursive writing, and traditional mathematics, emphasizing memorizing basic math facts.

April 1996-May 1998-WALT DISNEY WORLD Company-Guest Communications Specialist. I interacted with guests via phone, letter, or e-mail to solve guest situations.
