Passenger Check-in Security System Measures, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Newark Airport & LaGuardia Airport, Port Authority of NY/NJ

Project Engineer for the design and installation of a $20+ million closed-circuit television (CCTV) security cameras and related back-end equipment for passenger check-in points at JFK Terminals 1, 2, 7, and 8. Newark Airport Terminals A, B & C and LaGuardia Terminal. Design involved provision of CCTV cameras, positioning of cameras with respect to newly installed security check point wide-body scanning machines and capturing the Field of Views. Design of centrally located security camera recording system linked via fiber optic cables. Performed an assessment of power system reliability and uninterrupted power source (UPS) requirements. Surveyed check lanes and selected suitable cameras and camera mountings for each application. Designed networking of cameras for viewing and recording of images over the fiber network. Responsible for managing the requirements of the SCADA system and working jointly with the designated system integrators.

As Lead Engineer, designed closed-circuit television (CCTV) security camera systems for bulk mail handling facilities. Work involved providing power to the bulk mail sorting handling machines. Provided pneumatic lines, fire alarm interface, and voice/data communication cabling, as well as wiring to main-distribution and intermediate-distribution frames.

Delaware River Bridges Video Security Measures, NJ Turnpike Authority, Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester Counties, NJ

Provided a Feasibility Report for the video security measures at the Delaware River bridges based upon the deployment of Intelligent Video Detection Systems. The installation of cameras was recommended to view steel members of the bridges, catwalks, and piers, and where these are accessible from the bridge, as well as the approaches to these critical members. Cameras were recommended to continuously record using a distributed recording architecture, including network video recorders located remotely at the bridge. Camera images and controls were connected to LAN/WAN infrastructure via wireless or microwave backhaul transceivers linking bridge-mounted equipment to the new communication antennas at the Traffic Management Centre.
