WORK HISTORY:

As a Hazmat Foreman to a crew of 5 Technicians, I responded to emergencies that involve potentially dangerous substances. As a Hazmat Foreman/Technician, I identify the hazardous materials and decide how best to dispose of them. Materials commonly managed include asbestos, lead, mercury, mold, radioactive waste, and nuclear waste. I have a basic understanding of chemistry, though a Hazmat Technicians does not have to be a Scientist. I identified substances with the knowledge of the chemical, physical, and toxic properties of many hazardous materials. This knowledge helped me to pick the safest way to remove, transport, and dispose of them. The nature of your work poses a threat to your health, so I took necessary precautions while working. For example, I wear disposable and chemical-resistant clothing, safety goggles, gloves, and masks. I am incredibly meticulous. Not only was I concerned with my safety, but I was also responsible for the safety of the general public. The public’s safety was in your trained hands.
