PROJECTS

9-Story Civil Design Project Winter 2024

● Collaborated with team members to strategize, analyze, and design a diverse range of structural components, including buckling restrained braced frames, special moment frames, column splices, concrete footings, base plates, composite floor beams, girders, and various critical connections

● Prepared technical deliverables and written documentation such as computations completed on paper/online and drawings assembled on AutoCAD for all structural components along with progress/assessment reports to document project progress and performed engineering calculations to account for during design

● Facilitated strategic team meetings to allocate deliverables efficiently, enhancing workflow optimization and coordinated workshop sessions to foster collaboration and ideation exchange among team members. Coke Can Test Spring 2022

● Researched and curated lightweight materials to bolster the compressive strength of a coke can while preserving as minimal weight as possible

● Conducted many experiments to analyze the impact of various materials on the structural integrity of a coke can and identified vulnerable areas susceptible to buckling and compressive failure through trial and error

● Collected comprehensive data on the behavior of the coke can under compression loads using compressive press equipment and recorded critical stress and force at which the can experiences failure/buckling CORI Windmill Design-Build Project Fall 2020

● Design and Develop a Cardboard Windmill consisting of a sturdy frame and 2 turbine variations to achieve max aerodynamic spin strength to lift a load with a fixed amount of supplies provided as well as reach a target Performance Index of minimizing the duration to carry the load while using least weight of materials as possible

● Conducted comprehensive research on windmill structures to gain insights into their structural integrity and operational mechanisms. It utilized findings to ideate and sketch multiple wing and frame designs before assembly, optimizing performance and functionality.

● Performed windmill testing using a shake table and calibrated fan, applying predetermined force levels to assess load-bearing capacity and utilized analytical engineering tools to measure lateral forces exerted on the structure before failure

EXPERIENCE

VNC Construction - Internship - Shadowing General Contractor Summer 2021 - Summer 2022

● Engaged in participating as a shadow for the general contractor, gaining first-hand exposure to multifaceted responsibilities, including client liaison, subcontractor coordination, on-site inspections, interpretation of architectural blueprints/drawings, and comprehension of insights from diverse field professionals

● Collaborated closely with 6 seasoned professionals within their respective fields of work, fostering a supportive and conducive work atmosphere characterized by positivity and mutual respect

● Participated in diverse hands-on, on-site, responsibilities including procurement of construction materials from contracted suppliers, installation of roofing systems, welding for plumbing installation, nailing wood for framing, painting, and hardwood flooring installation.

● Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing an extensive array of tools and equipment to execute tasks efficiently
