Systems engineer supporting Anti- Armors weapons systems for the Marine Corps. Projects include white paper on thermal runaway in Lithium-ion batteries exploring causes of thermal runaway. Provided customer with guidelines to decrease the chances of thermal runaway in Lithium-ion batteries. Researched new product designed to aid thermal management and prevent thermal runaway in Lithium-ion batteries. Provided customer with results of initial thermal and space claim investigation for incorporating the product into the customer’s battery pack

Successfully investigated means to perform replacement of part on previously unserviceable weapon’s component. Created Modification Instructions (MI) that documented the maintenance procedures for inclusion in customer’s service manuals. This modification was a cost savings for the customer because it permitted the repair of damaged equipment instead of replacement with new ones.

Designed hardware for new prototype energy meter using Creo Parametric 2 software. Performed electronic packaging modeling chips and circuit board, switches, LED, and enclosure to find best fit using CRE2 CAD software. Successfully validated new design using 3D printer to create a prototype from CAD files, and assured fit-up with weapon System. Assisted in building of circuits, soldering components and taking voltage measurements, and investigated the behavior of CMOS chips using oscilloscope. The proposed new meter would be cheaper than the legacy item it was replacing and could perform a greater number of tests.
