Research Assistant (5th July– 02nd October 2022) HELEN KELLER INTERNATIONAL (HKI) – DAR ES SALAAM, KIGOMA & MARA Roles and responsibilities

- Attending training for Post Event Coverage Survey for Vitamin A Supplementation, Deworming, and Household dietary practices.

- Going through the questionnaire and testing the data collection tool (ODK).

- Traveling with the survey team to the assigned districts to the assigned regions which are Dar es Salaam, Kigoma, and Mara region

- Interviewing various community groups including children’s caretakers, health workers, health system stakeholders, and community leaders.

- Entering data/answers from the respondents clearly and accurately using digital technology tools (tablets)

- Ensuring maximum adherence to research ethics and ethical procedures for human subjects’ surveys during the entire data collection process.

Project Facilitator (Volunteer) – 05th Aug 2018 – 25thApr 2019 VOLUNTARY SERVICES OVERSEAS (VSO) – BUKOBA, KAGERA Roles and responsibilities

- Conducting research, data analysis, and report writing (Youth Platform mapping and Sustainable development Goal KAP surveys)

- Conducting facilitations to the parents, teachers, and pupils about the ICLP

(Involving Children’s Learning and Participation) project.

- Conducting facilitations in club sessions in raising awareness among the students about child health, child rights, and child participation.

- Participate in mid-phase debrief to discuss the development of the project based on the challenges and what is the way forward towards project goals.

Roles and responsibilities

- Crosschecking the names of children in the field trial registered sheet ready for baseline, midline, and final evaluation of the project.

- Interviewing primary caregivers on health, nutrition, and social economic information related to the MFFAPP trial

- Interviewing primary caregivers of under-five children on sensory evaluation based on food testing and child preference and recording answers from mother’s interpretation and facial expressions of the child

- Taking anthropometric measurements including weight, height, and MUAC tape and recording the reading during the screening of children

- Supporting distribution of food to primary caregivers and filling in distribution questionnaire
