My Objectives:To ensure that medical services are provided in a manner that ensures patient safety according to international standards of healthcare and meeting the objectives of the organization. The aim is that the medical structure, process and output should be co-ordinated to achieve quality assurance by Protocols and Key performance Indicators. I have gained leadership qualities, managerial skills and quality assurance through working in a JCI accredited organization. My objective is to align healthcare by data driven strategies, lead and build operations so as to have a high impact on the outcome that is safe and beneficial for the organization.

Experience is as follows:

Quality Co-ordinator :

Involved as team lead for the accreditation process of JCI as well as of the Cardiology department. Worked on the various clinical pathways, guidelines and KPI to achieve a compliance rate of > 80%. Participated in hospital JCI surveys as the quality co-ordinator for policies and procedures of the hospital and got the requirements achieved in timely manner for the Disease specific Accreditation of Acute MI program of the cardiology dept.

Team lead for the audit of the Heart Failure program, developing its registry and meeting the KPI’s to be submitted within the given timeframe and guiding the team to achieve > 80% of the targets.

Preparing the annual reports for the KPI’s and for the JCI team for presentation at mid cycle and annual reviews.

Leadership qualities: Had the honor to work for two large programs of clinical excellence in the hospital that later got international accreditation. Works to maintain effective working relationships with both senior and junior colleagues.

Heart failure program: started in 2014 with development of protocols and clinical pathways for patients with acute and chronic heart failure. The chronic heart failure clinic began in 2015 so that the patient treatment was up titrated as per the guidelines of American heart Association.

Myocardial Infarction program: started in 2009 as Disease specific JCI Accreditation in the acute myocardial infarction program of the hospital and as a team leader helped in developing guidelines and protocols for the STEMI and NSTEMI program.

Management Skills:

Meeting the different levels of staff and solving the problems or conflict resolutions.

Evaluating the annual reports prepared for the different programs and review the medical record to see that patient safety and quality as per the need of organization and JCI standards are met.

Scheduling the staff as needed for the reporting system.

Co-ordinated with the EPIC team to help build up the STEMI and HF pathway.

Good communication skills and team player.

Presentation skills at various levels and efficiency in MS word, power point and Excel.

Clinical Experience:

Working as Senior Specialist Cardiologist at Rashid Hospital which is an 800-bedded tertiary care hospital with referral center to trauma, medical and surgical emergencies. It has 16 bedded coronary care unit, 6 bedded PCI unit and 16 bed General cardiology unit. All cardiac cases including Acute coronary syndromes, cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure cases are dealt with a team of 8 consultants, 6 specialist senior registrars and 10 specialist registrars.

Teaching Skills:

Developed an Echocardiography Course: developed a new basic and advanced echocardiography course for the training center along with hands-on skills and have conducted 18 such courses since 2015. Have been a grader for the echocardiography log books for European society of echocardiography.

ACLS Instructor @RC health services 2022 and Dubai health authority 2009.

Faculty member of Dubai Medical College: Have been teaching medical students, interns and residents during rotations in Cardiology Unit. Did bedside teaching along with formal power point and video demonstrations of common cardiology problems such as valvular heart diseases, ischemic heart disease.

1.Right ventricular involvement in patients with inferior myocardial infarction, correlation of electrocardiographic findings with echocardiography data. (JPMA, 2017, Mar.)

2. Acute coronary syndrome in a young patient due to an undiagnosed Kawasaki disease. (The Journal of emergency medicine, 2013.)

3.Pattern of Left ventricular hypertrophy seen on transthoracic echo in patients with hypertensive cardiomyopathy when compared to idiopathic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. (JPMA, Jan 2013.)

4.Endomyocardial fibrosis causing stroke in a young man. (BMJ case reports, Aug 2012).

5.Amlodipine and simvastatin combination in hypertensive and hyperlipidemia patients. (ASCOT TRIAL)
