To Whom it may concern

I am seeking a development job on either the AS/400 using RPG or in a junior position on a SQL Server using C# (C Sharp). My expertise in on the IBM AS/400 (iSeries) systems but I have been writing programs in C# for more than a year.

The last company I worked for was Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company (KLIC). When I started with the company I was hired as the Director of IT. My position was to handle all aspects of the IT Department for KLIC.

While serving as Director of IT we moved from several different servers to a large server with virtual servers on the same hardware. I was able to consolidate more than 50% of the hardware. We moved to Active Directory, a file server, and MS Exchange Server. We established a redundant Disaster Recovery site in another city with duplicate hardware. We also upgraded two times to new AS/400 hardware. Initially the AS/400 software was not very well organized with multiple reports that were supposed to show the same information but did not. During my time as Director we cleared up those types of problems and automated many of the manual processes. Initially there were only two people on staff at KLIC, myself and an operator. I hired a Systems administrator for the servers and two developers for the AS/400. By automating the system, there was no longer a need for an operator.

Since KLIC has been purchased by Security National, I have moved to an analyst/development position. I am happy in this position and would like to continue doing analyst and development work. Although I have been a Director/Manager, I was burned out in those position and have been glad for the change. When Security National purchased KLC, I was only promised a job until we moved to the SQL server, but since that time, I learned C# and began working on the SQL Servers. I was then told that I would be terminated in December of 2022, but that was extended for another year. Since Security National has an entire team of C# developers in Salt Lake City and they are no longer using the AS/400 (iSeries), my services are no longer needed and they are not able to provide me with additional work. I am not interested in relocating. I have been working remotely out of my home for more that 3 years and would like to continue to work remotely. Thank you for your consideration.
