Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Adventhealth Sebring
I triage patients to be seen by medical residents and by the general cardiologist on call in the hospital. I obtain patient history and perform physical examination of patients with cardiology consults. I document consult notes with differential diagnosis and recommendations and forward them to my supervising physician. I order diagnostic tests and interpret results of tests and procedures to develop a plan of care for patients seen and examined. I order medications and treatments appropriate for patients seen. I collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team in delivering consistently safe and excellent patient care. I interrogate cardiac therapy devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.

I am responsible for maintaining and developing processes that ensure the smooth day to day operations of the Progressive Care Observation Unit. I am involved in the unit and whole hospital bed capacity management, unit staffing, patient safety and patient experience, performance improvement, unit staff growth and development, physician collaboration and serve as staff resource person. I participate in MD-Rn rounding and involved in the development and delivery of safe patient care. I respond to rapid response calls, codes and other emergency situations in the unit such as stroke alerts, code stemi and other changes in patient condition that warrant immediate attention and intervention. I help coordinate consults, tests, procedures, continuation and transfer of care with the interdisciplinary care team.

As a Clinical Nurse Leve II, I provided safe and commendable bedside nursing care in a fast-paced Observation Unit with diagnosis ranging from MI, stroke, abdominal pain, etc. I was an active member of campus committees to improve nursing practice and nursing care such as Magnet Committee, led and supported the team as Charge Nurse in ensuring that safe and excellent care was consistently provided to patients. I collaborated with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team involved in the plan of care of each of the patients in the unit.

I was responsible for conducting patient physical examination, diagnosis and treatment in the outpatient, inpatient and emergency department. I developed plan of care for patients with acute and chronic conditions and provided consistent follow-up and education to ensure their health were maintained. I documented in patient’s charts their assessment, physical findings, differential diagnosis and treatment according to the organization’s standard and protocols. I assisted the OB-Gyne physician in the care of patients in the labor and delivery department. I performed minor surgical procedures such as suturing of minor lacerations, wound debridement and assisted in major surgical procedures in the Operating Room.
