Manufacturing Technician, Hughes/Raytheon Missile Systems

Bldg 809 Micro working and reworking under the scope with micro assemblies. Trainer, focused on developing new employees on both the assembly and process techniques and instructions. Worked with the 2500 Micro Pick & Place and other her Pick & Place machines.

Bldg 9022 Worked on extremely large product lines such as Tomahawk, Maverick, and HARM utilizing both mechanical and soldering skills.

Bldg 801and 840 Supporting multiple production and engineering customer in multiple buildings, prioritizing current workloads, and introducing new customers into the flow and integrating their priorities into the current workloads.

801 Prototype Lab supporting Engineering efforts and performing overflow for production.

This work includes:

Working Lead in process work such as utilizing the coating machine, bonding, and rework/repair.

Assembly work such as utilizing the Mini Wave machine, working from planning, schematics, and other methods, working with the customer to establish the best methods for both working and reworking their product. Completed Six Sigma Training December 2020.

840 Telemetry Lab providing support for Engineering, E44 Engineering, and Production overflow.

This work includes:

Working with an E44 engineer with on-the-spot builds, deviations, rework from prints to hand drawings, testing out connections to determine pass/fail with ohmmeter. Assisting other engineering customer efforts with time critical schedules that require extensive support schedules to ensure the goals are met. Working closely with tester and engineering to determine what needs to take place to move/rework to get the unit to the next step. Building, reworking, wiring, coating, and cable building are some of the many abilities I possess and are needed for this environment.

Learning, I like to learn how to use new techniques, new tooling, new machines, and new technologies that we can incorporate into our current toolbox.

Activities

With my time outside of work I like to support my grandchildren with their sports activities like soccer, little league baseball, pop-warner, and cheer. I take them to and from their events, I help out with their practice sessions, and when I’m not physically helping out, I like to take snacks and refreshments for the teams.
