• Carrying out overhaul and testing of CAT engines, hydraulic cylinders, wheel stations and differentials
• Scheduled and Unscheduled maintenance duties of surface construction and mining Equipment including inspection of hoses, leaks, loose components or mounting, damaged parts, checking of fluid levels, replacement of air, and fuel filters, coolants and greasing of necessary points.
• Identifying malfunction and troubleshooting major breakdowns, diagnosing using visual inspection components and measuring components against manufacturer tolerances. Using measuring tools including dial gauges, pressure gauges, venier calipers, micrometers and refractometer
• Replacement or changing both mechanical and electronic injectors, Trim coding and performing injector Height setting
• Carrying out periodic servicing in accordance to company’s specifications including A-Frame, Chassis and defects Using recommended tools by SIS.

• Using VIMS (Vital Information Management Systems) to download data from machinery which may indicate abusive operation of equipment recorded faults and with factory support and also work on any product recalls.
• Troubleshooting of faults wit CAT electronic technician (ET) and other tools as well as interpreting both electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
• Field service and workshop work including servicing and replacement of track guards, rollers, idler, and master links on machines.
• Charging,discharging & checking steering, suspensions, brakes and hammer tool accumulator pressures.
