SUMMARY CAREER PROFILE

PM/SENIOR PROJECT PLANNER/SCHEDULER, EXYTE, REPBULIC OF IRELAND (MARCH 2020– PRESENT)

I am currently working on data centres for Exyte contracted through Midlands Project Management. Due to the nature of the client, currently I am unable to share any information about the project. I am the lead planner for this project.

I was employed as a Senior Planner/Scheduler at Exyte as a contractor working through Midlands Project Management. At this time, I was contracted working on a Semi-Conductor Fabrication project for Intel. I was responsible for the Boiler Chiller Plant Package. The role includes trade engagement, weekly reporting, schedule development, and client interaction. I assess trade claims and have an input into the final claims in conjunction with the commercial team. During my time at Exyte as a Senior Planner I was then made PIT Lead/Package Manager of the package. My responsibilities on the Boiler Chiller Plant (BCP) were to manage the entire scope of work from Engineering to Commissioning, including Commercials and Procurement.

I am currently employed as a Senior Planner/Scheduler at Worley Parsons. This is the Oil and Gas division of Worley Parsons, previously Jacobs. My roles and responsibilities here are as a Senior Package Planner/Scheduler. I am currently employed as a Senior Planning Consultant at Profile Construction Consultants, part of the PDSI Group of Companies. Profile are a planning consultancy based in West Malling, Kent, and service the construction industry. My role in the company involves the generation of planning programmes covering the full design and construct timeline, from tender to detailed construction. Pragmatis are a project controls consultancy who took over the complete project controls scope from Black & Veatch at the Kusile site. I was employed to manage the plant-wide electrical installation package, assuming full responsibility for this package in March 2017 after a short handover period. Scope under planning management exceeded ZAR1 billion.

SENIOR PROJECT PLANNER, MURRAY & ROBERTS POWER & ENERGY, NAMIBIA, AND SOUTH AFRICA (JULY 2015-NOV 2016)

This senior management planning role involved two assignments with this division of M&R.

The first assignment involved overseeing the project planning function for the Murray & Roberts Power and Energy scope of work for the development of the Husab Uranium Project in Namibia as part of the Husab Project Joint Venture. This position was based in Namibia at the proposed mining & processing project site and involved management of, and collaboration with, a small group of planning & administrative staff. I reported directly to the M&R Project Manager.

I was subsequently moved onto the WFGD (wet flue gas desulphurisation) project at the Kusile Power Station Project in November 2015 where I was involved in the initial setup and then implementation of this significant project. This ZAR145 million project covers WFGD scope at units 2 and 3.

SENIOR PROJECT PLANNING CONSULTANT, CRITICAL PATH MANAGEMENT, JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA (SEPT 2013 TO JULY 2015)

This senior consulting role involved developing and overseeing the full spectrum of project implementation planning activities for several clients in the project management and construction industries. Major clients included Steyn City Properties where I assumed a key role in the project development, Metrum Project Management where I worked with and supported the Project Management and Project Controls functions, Gonang Consulting Services, Anglo American Platinum, Deltech Consulting, MTA Construction and ISF Services in project and study delivery via the provision of planning and scheduling services. Site work took up approximately 65% of my time with the remainder spent working actively with clients, developing plans.

PROJECT PLANNER, SNC LAVALIN, JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA (SEPT 2011 TO AUG 2013)

This EPCM contractor role involved working with and supporting the Project Management and Project Controls functions in project and study delivery via the provision of timely planning and scheduling services. Work undertaken during this 24-month period included planning of a brown-fields refurbishment for Katanga Mining’s copper plant in the DRC, production of a construction schedule for a recent Zimplats DFS and planning of a brown-fields expansion for Namibia Custom Smelters Copper and Arsenic plant in Namibia. This period included a site secondment phase in Namibia where the focus was on improved project progress reporting by creating, optimising, and maintaining detailed construction schedules and then ensuring contractor adherence and input to the planning and progress monitoring process. I was promoted to Intermediate Planner during this period.

TRAINEE PROJECT CONTROLS RESOURCE, ZAMIN FERROUS, URUGUAY (FEB 2011 TO JULY 2011)

This Owners Team role involved working with and supporting the incumbent Project Controls Manager in the delivery of the recently completed definitive feasibility study for Zamin s Valentines Iron Ore Project in Uruguay. This is a world-class, large scale, magnetite iron ore project and is the first of its kind in this part of the world. This study, conducted out of Montevideo, Uruguay involved the co-ordination of various international consultant groups to define the business case for the establishment of an iron ore mine, beneficiation plant, concentrate pipeline and export terminal plus associated infrastructure for the production and export of 18 Mtpa of high-quality magnetite concentrate suitable for direct reduction and blast furnace pellets. This $34 million DFS was completed in July 2011 and project permitting and fund-raising initiatives have since commenced.

I left this role at the end of the DFS to get some formal training in planning tool software prior to re-joining the industry in September 2011 with SNC Lavalin.

LOGISTICS MANAGER - EXPLORATION, ZAMIN FERROUS, URUGUAY (OCT 2010 TO MAY 2011)

This site-based management role involved planning, implementing and controlling all manner of logistical support to the exploration programme associated with the development of Zamin s Valentines Iron Ore Project. The exploration programme was completed for the purposes of the feasibility study in January 2011, although drilling to prove up new resources continues. The role involved managing the logistical supply chain for the Exploration Management team and the various local and international drilling teams – consisting of 14 drill rigs, drilling up to 16,000m of core per month – employed in this field.

I left this role after bedding down the necessary policies and Procedures for an effective operation and handing over to the local work force and took up a support position in project controls on the feasibility study team with a bit of overlap between the roles.
