As an aspiring UX researcher, I possess a fervent desire to understand human behavior and advocate for user-centered design. I am passionate about utilizing my expertise in research methods and data analysis to contribute to creating impactful user experiences. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctorate in Gerontology in Sociology, and I am keen to gain further experience within UX Research to improve user accessibility and promote user-driven design. IMS 513: Explore and discuss important concepts in human-computer interaction (HCI) theory and usability, and learnt about cutting-edge technologies used to measure the effectiveness of digital media environment design. Paid particular attention to user expectations and how they drive user behavior. Designing and managing a usability study, then reporting on the results of that study. In detail, the course gave opportunity to Design a usability study for a digital media redesign, conduct a range of the most important UX research methodologies necessary for most interaction design projects, write detailed personas describing typical interface users, assess usability strengths and weaknesses of digital media stimuli, Understand important usability metrics and their application to the evaluation of digital media.

IMS 415/IMS 515. Advanced Usability and User Experience.

Focused on the study of user experience research and design. Worked with a real client to evaluate and redesign an existing interface. Also, have client contact and consider and carry out the user experience research methodologies (including eye tracking and facial expression analysis) that was most helpful to the client. After analyzing the data, decision on an interactive design approach to take and work through the steps to build wireframes and a clickable prototype.

Research Assistant working on the Ohio Nursing Home Family Satisfaction Survey with results used in Ohio’s Long-Term Care Consumer Guide.

Tasks include scanning completed surveys using special software and equipment; answering telephone and e-mail helpline questions from nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and families; participating in weekly project meetings, filling in for administrative staff during lunch and meetings; and other duties as assigned.
