WORK EXPERIENCE

Niksoft (DOJ/OIG), Washington DC IT Specialist (E-discovery Project Coordinator) September 2019 to Present 40hr

Serves as the Litigation Support Specialist for the Eastern District of Virginia to provide E-Discovery support to our attorneys, paralegals, and investigators with partner agencies.

Coordinates with managers and supervisors to advise upper management of the requirements, priorities, and problem resolutions for the District’s business systems, the approval of the expenditure of funds for business-related systems, and the testing and acceptance of the products provided by our contractors or purchased by our main office to effect business goals and milestones.

Perform advanced search strategies like structured and conceptual analytical tools, including email threading, textual near duplication, clustering, keyword expansion, or similar document detection.

Partners with agency attorneys and high-power stakeholders to identify and develop specifications for upgrading E-Discovery tools, applications, and databases; budgets for future E-Discovery operations; and supervises the activities of contractors hired to assist in completing high volume E-Discovery projects.

Designs and executes search strategies and search terms for employing sophisticated E-Discovery tools to locate, recover, process, analyze, and organize potentially responsive electronically stored information (ESI), and ensures that procedures for the use of the E-Discovery tools are consistently followed based on industry best practices.

Develops and maintains databases that track the use of ESI, as well as produces reports associated with requests for and using ESI.

Provides agency attorneys, paralegals and team members with training and other technical assistance specifically dedicated to researching, reviewing, and retrieving ESI, including the operation of the E-Discovery tools.

Serves as technical expert in E-Discovery, process improvement and quality control roles for all criminal and civil cases.

Serves as eLitigation Technology Coordinator to the EOUSA, a subject matter expert role in E-Discovery to affect a transformative shift in the Department of Justice’s eLitigation proficiency.

Creates formal and informal documents, including standard of procedures, technology specific guide, lessons learned, and knowledge repository.

Coordinates with investigators from partner agencies, including, but not limited to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Department of State (DOS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Defense (DOD), and National Security Division (NSD) among others to standardize data transfer and to build trust and foster long term relationship and accountability.
