In Peaks, Hadoop layer is used primarily for staging. Peaks provides 70 Table extracts to Everest in the form of AVRO files, which land in the designated HDFS path or Everest to pick up. Everest Hadoop application is developed using java, SQOOP, Hive, Pig, Oozie and Autosys. It converts the peaks provisioned data from .AVRO format to delimited TEXT in the first step and then exporting the data to Netezza using sqoop in second step. There is also a minimal cleansing done in hive before exporting to Netezza.

There are 80 files to load Daily and 74 for Monthly. Each of the table load is an oozie workflow which is scheduled using the Designated Daily/Monthly autosys box for processing. On completion of the staging load hadoop will trigger the netezza CDC box job.

JUNO is offerings and distribution platform for FI prices. The JUNO Infrastructure acts as a Hub or single connection point for the different trading platforms from each of the firm's trading and offer management systems to each electronic distribution channel. On an average, JUNO routes 18,000 orders in a given trading day.

Merrill Edge is an online channel for self-directed investors. It provides "Edge" to Individual Investors. The Edge business needed to add fixed income capabilities to the Merrill Edge platform to become more competitive in the online space. With the addition of FI trading and alerts, the platform becomes much more marketable, and empowers the individual investor to diversify his/her portfolio and keep a close watch on risk and opportunities without having to shop at different trading houses.
