ACTIVITIES
During my gaps in employment with School and working in the District Attorney’s Office, Marshall County Correctional Facility, Grenada Adult Detention Center, and Yalobusha County Detention Center I was taking care of my children and often running errands for some of the older generation in my small town. I was also working with Baptist Memorial Hospital where I was a security guard.
While getting both of my degrees I took classes that helped me learn different filing systems and taught me a lot about different aspects of the law, and how to handle clients in different ways.
While working in the District Attorney’s Office there were times when everyone was out with court, and I handled the day-to-day operations in the Office. It was a part of my duties to go to the bank at the end of each day and make deposits for the bad check division.
While working at the Marshall County Correctional Facility, I took training classes on how to handle inmates and how to protect myself.
While working at the Grenada Adult Detention Center I took training classes on how to handle inmates and how to protect myself. I also filed papers and booked in inmates as well as bonded them out. I was awarded Employee of the Month in March 2020.
While working at Yalobusha County Detention Center, I have gone from being a transportation officer to being a Jailer to the Jail Administrator. I have handled filing papers, booking inmates, bonding inmates, keeping up with the inmate’s court appearances as well as their doctors’ appointments and making sure they get back and forth to wherever they need to go. I also deal with MDOC on a day-to-day basis. As the Jail Administrator I run the Jail with only a couple of jailers under me.
