Enrollment and Admissions Advisor
University of Phoenix, Fresno, CA
I responded to incoming calls from interested students while also working through an existing database of past inquiries. The goal in each case was to enroll candidates in an appropriate program for college. I also actively recruited students at public events, job fairs, and employer-sponsored resources events.
My favorite part was working with students who happen to walk into our office. Getting to know them and growing to understand their goals and barriers supported their search for the right program by giving them skills tests and working in ONET to scan job categories.
Aug 2005 - Jun 2011
Development Director
Fresno State University, Fresno, CA
My job was to travel to meet with alumni, foundations, and corporate leaders to grow their interest in making major gifts to Fresno State. A major gift is defined as $50,000 and greater.
Development work aligns closely with alumni relations and campus leadership, boards, and committees. I also prepared presentations and wrote grant applications. Planned and carried out many public events – both large and small.

As a recent graduate from the Communication department, I was trained in how to teach for Weber State. At end of my training and mentorship, I started teaching Interpersonal Communication to undergraduate students. Before I moved to California in 2005, I had led 6 classes - creating assignments, grading, and in-class learning.
ONGOING EDUCATION
Currently enrolled in a Business Communication course through Ed X – a professional development resource founded by Harvard University.
Recently I served as a subject matter expert for Cengage Learning. Working with their course design team, I tested and offered feedback on Public Speaking online platorms.
Graduated from Pedagogical Conditioning Course at West Hills Lemoore. Helped shape future classes with my feedback and recommendations.
I have earned two badges through the @One programs. Each one incorporated 45 hours of professional development. My focus has been on Humanizing Online Education and perfecting the basics of Online Teaching and Learning.
