How we became a personal assistant was back in 2011. My mom was on life-support. Luckily she made it on life-support and she’s gonna have to have long-term care. I took care of my mother for almost 10 years through the state of Illinois Department of rehabilitation in January 2023 my mom was back on life-support, but on this time I had to make the hard decision and what was best and to take her off life- support she passed away January 21, 2023, and I am still employed with the state of Illinois at department of rehabilitation and those 10 years I have learned a lot I have learned compassion for the elderly and their illnesses great caregiving skills .
