Sr. Systems Engineer (Data Analyst – Remote position)

Assignments supported multiple projects in researching tools and options. This included compiling new business opportunities for 2 company divisions. Two projects resulted in project proposal systems being created with SQL Server back-ends. One used the Ignition SCADA front-end as the GUI, the other uses SQL based reports. Studying SAS VIYA programming via the SAS Partner Network.

Software Guidance and Assistance 2020 - 2022

Data Analyst: Client: Wells Fargo, N.A. (Remote position)

Consumer Data and Engagement Platform: Customer duplicate account remediation; discovery of cause for duplication and automated enhancements to the manual processes to support analytics and business dashboard development.

Marketing Operations and BI Remediation: multiple projects involved in migrating data from several sources into the integrated marketing data environment. The new environment will simplify creation of new marketing reports and maintenance of existing reports with a single data source and a common pool of metrics and code. Tools required include Excel, SQL, Teradata SQL Assistant, MS SQLServer Management Studio, Confluence, JIRA and requires the ability to read SAS and Tableau code.

Software Guidance and Assistance 2017 - 2019

Data Analyst: Client: Wells Fargo, N.A. (Remote position)

Marketing Business Intelligence: comprehensive effort to evaluate KPI across the Wells Fargo Marketing Organization to create alignment with the on-going Marketing Data Execution initiative. Identify all current, and desired KPI functions and define for migration and creation. Excel and Access are the primary collection and analysis tools used to provide the start-up data for the Marketing Business Intelligence Common Access Portal. I managed one of the SharePoint sites for the project and supported 2 others. Created process documentation and managed backup of the back-end data.

Marketing Data Execution: worked on Source-to-Target definition by translating Teradata, SAS and SQL scripts into MS Excel spreadsheets for use by developers to create a new, more efficient, production environment.

College Collaboration Portal: Successfully completed transition from development into production. Managed data evaluation, transformation and loading into the SQLServer back-end database during the development uploading part of this project.

Excel was the primary tool for evaluating and analyzing the data provided.

Responsible for reviewing the data and improving the load percentages by 5 to 35% (source data complexity).

Updated procedures and maintained documentation of processes, some HTML coding required.

SQL (AQT) is used to query some external databases for both data to load and to validate data.

Responsible for training production support, located in India, in the manual processes as well as making the team aware of certain U.S. specific requirements.

Citius Technology 2016 - 2017

Manager, Data Analytics; Client: eviCore Healthcare

Primary role was data analysis to consolidate healthcare data from older systems to primary systems.

Consolidation of healthcare data from system to system, with minimal client impact, to retire legacy systems.

Evaluated X12 EDI, spreadsheet and flat file source data files for QA achieving best fit to the destination system. Created the BRDs to document the data mapping processes for both business and IT users. MS VBA code built to aid in repetitive reformatting and reporting processes.

Created system business rules by analyzing client health plan information to meet the requirements of the corporate systems for inbound processing of client data into the database.

Gathered requirements from multiple teams and organizations, analyzed data to meet different system requirements.

Documented data sources and production processes, identified required changes and documented anomalies for corrective action.

Insight Global 2014 - 2015

System Engineering Program Coordinator; Client: Hewlett-Packard Company

PPS Division, Commercial Managed IT - Notebooks, R&D Group, Systems Engineering

Program Coordinator working with Program Managers globally on new product development (NPI) to set and meet multiple program milestones.

Analyzed production data to identify and recommend solutions for process bottlenecks.

Processes and procedures were documented to identify concerns and drive improvements in production for new models. Due to raised issue awareness, process improvements in data reliability and reporting were driven to the appropriate teams.

Develop new tools to improve processes and production level reporting. Changes resulted in 2 hours per week returned to Coordinators. Maintenance of Visual Basic routines in MS Excel was part of this role.

Business Data Analyst; Client: Hewlett-Packard Company

Consumer Product Group, TCE&Q Department, World Wide Warranty Management.

Data analysis performed using PolyVista and Excel Cube functions to extract WW warranty related information from corporate consumer production data cube to build management reports.

Extracted data for tracking issues and their resolution, performed statistical analysis for change and reporting on a periodic basis to relevant departments and management.

Icon Information Consultants 2011 - 2013

Data Analyst; Client: Hewlett-Packard Company

Data Services Group of Enterprise Storage, Servers, Networking Division

Program Manager in the Virtual Factory Program, planning and development phase.

Acquired manufacturing and test data for inclusion in the program's global Data Warehouse from functionally and geographically diverse teams. Seven additional data feeds were identified and analyzed.

Developed database and extract, translate and loading requirements for the new data feeds (SQL Server 2008 and T-SQL). Analyzed the installed changes and data loaded to confirm the design was fully implemented. Results include data dictionaries for the key data sources and a commodity integration development guide.

Analyzed the loaded data against program requirements and worked with the database analysts to resolve any noted issues. Numerous design issues were identified with corrective actions recommended.

Managed meta data requirements for the planning and development phases. The program plan called for corporate standardized data wherever possible.

SAP was the source system of record but little documentation existed and locating systems either feeding SAP or managing the master data required extensive meetings with both business and technical resources to locate, document and negotiate extract agreements from these systems.

Hewlett-Packard Co. 2007 - 2010

Test Strategy Engineer; ESS Americas Engineering and Quality

Program Manager with responsibilities for product implementation in support of the Houston factory.

In order to expedite ordering and delivery options, I interacted with other HP groups (business, shipping, IT and third party IT) on a global basis in several divisions as well as third party logistics providers.

Developed and implemented strategy for product routing and build information across several system environments increasing operational efficiency on the assigned product lines.

Pursued systemic action on Country of Origin (CoO) issues to reduce manual entry errors, corrective action time, manifest errors and customs delays. Documentation of processes was a routine part of this position.

Special Project – aided in the migration of the Atalla division resources from CA to Houston. Led the planning, construction and auditing of a secure room for programming of equipment developed for secure financial transaction processing on a global basis.

Special Project – Managed factory logistics of converting work space from closed offices to open floor plan. Multiple buildings involved, multiple facilities groups (phone, telecom, electrical, etc...) coordinated. Project lasted 2 years (4 phases), approximately 240 offices rebuilt to allow over 350 staff to occupy the same physical area.

Hewlett-Packard Co. 2006 - 2007

Engineer; End-to-End Engineering - Enterprise Storage, Servers, Networking Division

Project level responsibilities for product data management, engineering processes and freight charge management. Documenting of processes was a key part of this position.

Engaged with a cross functional team on EDI, database, international and limited legal requirements to eliminate waste in divisional shipping costs. The results were mixed due to a contract with a third party shipper restricting data access rights. Recommendation was to renegotiate the contract with this service provider.
