PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

CR Bard / Becton Dickinson – Franklin Lakes, N.J. May 2017 – May 2023

Hired by CR Bard as a contractor / consultant to automate and design the Internal Audit team process tools. This system consisted of VBA / Excel based tools used by the audit team and the auditee throughout the whole auditing process. Multiple user interfaces were designed and implemented for end-to-end data capture and auditee data entry and progress tracking. An automated system was implemented to capture all data, create and update master tables of data, and create and update weekly / monthly reporting on audit status and any deficiencies found at the sites. Maintained all related data tables, troubleshooting all user issues of both auditors and auditees, training of new users, and creation of all user documentation. The audience for these applications was world-wide, so interfacing with many different parts of the world was a daily occurrence. Created all test scripts and supervised all testing of application updates, creation of all protocol documentation, and responsible for all related documentation to reside in company master control documentation system.

Created a user survey related to the audit team performance and auditing system. A VBA user application was created with a backend automation process developed to extract data into a running master table used for analysis and reporting metrics related to all aspects of the process.

Creation of the Internal Audit data process. This process consisted of over 140+ MS Excel /VBA child applications residing on a SharePoint site. These applications were updated monthly by the manufacturing sites all over the world. An automated process was devised to scrape all the monthly data into a master table which was then used to create monthly reporting Metrics. The data and tracking for these sites did not exist prior to this process so the metrics and reporting filled a very large void. This process also brought about the needed updating of all sites world-wide, and the identity of the quality management team personnel at these newly identified sites.

Created and automated FDA Auditor Profile report. This report was used to create a profile of the FDA auditor for use by BD site team. CSV files were extracted from an outside vendor database into an automated process which created a comprehensive profile report. This was a time sensitive, on demand report. From the time of requesting, it had to be a very quick turnaround, usually a couple of hours at most.

Created user attendance certificate processing for the yearly Quality Team division meeting. Over 300+

certificates were created by an automated process. This process included identifying the classes attended, the calculation of amount of total hours to receive credit for, and the automatic email distribution of all certificates to attendees.

Maintained user base for the Quality Team SharePoint sites. This included granting permission for access, uploading any files or reporting metrics, and creating new folders.

Worked with development team on the creation and roll out of the new audit data entry / tracking system. Initial model loosely based on the Excel / VBA audit process developed and used for almost 5 years. An Excel / VBA data loader was developed for use by contractors hired for any company audits. Created all user manuals, test scripts, supervised testing, and the company specification protocol documents pertaining to this data loader. This would be used to upload any data into the new system by a contractor.

Worked with developers on creating Power BI dashboards for Corporate and Internal data metrics. This included furnishing of all calculations of metrics, visual representations of metrics, testing and validation of metrics, and company specification / protocol documentation. Data feeds were created from master tables of data from audit processes and uploaded each month.

Handled all ad hoc data requests for all audit data – Internal, External, and Corporate audits. SME and owner of all the mentioned data sources.

Worked in tandem with IT on standardizing company site name lists, country code lists, and various other tables across all audit types for implementation into newly developed company system.

Part of group who won the prestigious CEO Excellence Award in fiscal year 2020. CR Bard was acquired by Becton Dickenson on or about 2017. Our group was one of the main drivers for overhauling the way audits were tracked and the reporting of all metrics with relation to all flavors of audits I n Becton Dickenson. A major overhaul was done with our corporate audit processing and reporting used as the model.

SPS Services Group – Parsippany, NJ May 2015 – May 2017

Team lead and project manager for newly implemented account executive commissions system. Worked with the external vendor on all phases of the implementation of the new system. Set up automation in MS Excel using Vba and database connections for data integrity checking. Working with commissions systems users on a daily basis for adhoc data and general system functionality.

Built and automated MS Excel data import tools and account and sales rep price quoting tools.

Worked with a diverse group of users within the company gathering price quoting system MS Excel outputs. Consolidated output files, which were in many different Excel layout formats through VBA automation. These files were then processed through a VBA based tool which massaged the data (matching against external files and tables) and created a final file output which was then uploaded to a CRM system. This import tool contains a user interface which enables the user to pick / trigger many different processing paths.

Created complex price quoting tools used by AE and SE community. Gathered all specifications / rules etc. that had to be in place for proper price quoting. These tools used extensive VBA processing and user interface forms to create the final output. These outputs are then feed into an importer tool (same type application) as mentioned above. These tools are VBA based but also included complex spreadsheet formulas and formatting.

Cleaned up existing code in some pre-existing tools. Created code comments and notes within processes to help with any debugging or troubleshooting.

Created clear and concise documentation for all the processes I created or were pre-existing.

Worked with SQL Server and MS Access to clean / massage / correct existing tables and data. Customer Account tables were in need of updating and cleaning out of bad / extraneous data. Created and MS Access process to aid in this process.

Hired as consultant to provide automated reporting systems solutions and business tool troubleshooting and documentation.

Provided production support and Ms Access VBA code support with audit tool functionality and delivery of time sensitive company asset audits. Investigated and trouble shot a very complex VBA MS Access audit tool which enabled 30+ company asset audits to be delivered on time. Due to changes in source data and other factors the audit tool needed adjusting throughout the entire process. Since no documentation was available a deep investigation was required into data inputs, VBA code, and user required interaction. This tool required a complete re-engineering of the daily data extraction and validation due to a very large system upgrade.

Automated Audit process customer input worksheet processing. Re-engineered MS Excel customer input workbook using VBA to streamline and simplify the process. This redesign simplified the amount of customer input required, automated the population of metrics, automated the formatting and population of graphs, and streamlined the process that uses this customer sheet further upstream. This redesign consisted of the implementation of a good amount of VBA coding and complex formula creation. Process utilized extensive use of Pivot tables which were created and filtered through the use of VBA coding.

Audit process and tool documentation. An impending substantial upgrade to all the audit process data inputs required investigation and impact analysis. No existing documentation necessitated a total end to end analysis and documentation of the existing tool and process. This investigation included learning the business rules, examining and deciphering a very large and complex amount of MS Access VBA code, and determining the status of the tool output data. A very in depth and user-friendly document was created so future users and maintainers have a detailed view of the inner workings of the tool and the entire process.

Completed adhoc requests for dataset matching and analysis and future metric reporting automation. This included data validation and cleansing of many large input data set extractions, complex matching and mapping between many datasets and sources, MS Access database and macro creation, and MS Excel VBA tool creation.

Involved in system upgrade timeline and impacts. An impending Remedy system upgrade has created the need to understand the impact on the Audit and other tools used by the group. Through the documentation created issues such as data structure changes, table and field name changes, and availability of new data sources was assessed and addressed with team members.
