August 31, 2022

To Whomever,

It would be my honor to recommend Danielle Paul for any photography position. I am a Studio Photography Manager for Macy’s Photo and Content Studio in Long Island City, Queens, NY. I am a graduate of The School of Visual Arts. After working freelance I started working at Macy’s 24 years ago. I have managed multiple areas at Macy’s Photo Studio for most of that time. I have managed and directed several young photographers and assistants, all to internal promotions or better things sometimes beyond Macys, in that time. Danielle stands out as a unique individual who was an incredible asset to our studio. I have known Danielle Paul for approximately almost 4 years working with her and 1 year as one of my direct reports. She has displayed a great creative skill in lighting and directing her workload. Her technical skills in Photoshop, CaptureOne, Bridge and several other professional imaging software are proficient. Her lighting is exceptional from shooting silos on white, to large room sets. Often there are many projects going on at once and keeping them all aligned could be difficult. Recently I was having a problem with someone losing images and it looked like we would have to reshoot them. I came over to take care of the reshoots and saw that she had the merchandise. I let her know that I was going to shoot them the next day. Even though this was supposed to be off of her radar, she let me know she had already completed it. A few years ago, when she was an assistant, she worked in the neighboring area. I was in early processing images, she creeped onto my set and was checking the batteries on my packs making sure that every pack was ready for the day. This was not her area to maintain, but she decided to clean and organize while she waited on her team. She maintains this work ethic. How Danielle does anything is how she does everything. She is a diligent employee and inquisitive photographer. She looks at the growth and function of the entire studio as well as her direct area. Danielle is trustworthy, accountable and present. She helps drive the team by mentoring assistants. She is not only valued by me but also by her peers and studio heads. If you need more information, I supplied my personal contact below. I am happy to elaborate on any more of my thoughts on Ms. Paul.

Sincerely,

Louis Melledy
