My routine responsibilities are, supervision, monitoring, controlling, and sampling vessels containing human insulin. Repairing and maintaining pumps and valves making it possible for the human insulin process to be completed.
This role added leadership responsibilities and interaction with engineering, IT, quality control and middle management.
Duties as Senior Operator remain a part of this role. I’ve worked in this type of Chemical Processing role for 38 years. Senior Operator:
Lead Operator for control rooms (CR) 2 and 3.
Responsible for training of operators (six) over the past four years. Standing member of two different safety teams, and the LOTO simplification team. 2014 API winner for the Safety Wall of Honor.
Member of the IPHR team.
Assisted the Delta V team with the conversion from Measurex to Delta V. Represent CR2 in the informal PHR for the Waste Acetone tanks. In that roll I was the expert consultant for the waste tanks, TK 1602, EV1881, Columns, and the Sulf tanks. Serve as lead operator during lock out and column pack and unpacks in cr2 and cr3 and a mentor for the steam cleaning cart when a higher than normal steam pressure is present. Work directly with the Engineers as the process support go to Operator. Wabash River Energy, Ltd. (formerly Dynegy/Destec Energy) 1994-2004 Gasification Process Control Board Operator/Outside Area Operator Responsible for the safe operation and monitoring of the gasification process from the control room. Coordinate and control equipment and plant startup, normal operation, casualty response, and plant shutdown. Responsible for training new board operators. Responsible for writing safe work permits and conducting job walkdowns for Contractor maintenance activities in outside area I and III.
