Job Description
●Perform Navigational watch during underway, assist during loading/unloading of cargoes, conduct safety drills and perform safety watches.
●Operate cranes and derricks during lifting or landing of ship’s supplies and equipment.
●Rig deck staging, set up ladders and floaters when working aloft and painting on ship’s sides.
●Operate high pressure machine such as hydro and sand blaster for large scale general maintenance.
●Maintain cleanliness in the work areas and execute a formal preventive maintenance program including painting, greasing, welding and general repair.
●Operates fire extinguishing equipment and fighting apparatus and lead fire fighters in the event of emergency measures being encountered.
●Operates winches and windlass which includes letting go and heaving up an anchor, hydraulic cranes, electrical equipment and all running machinery. Check the work if it complies with the approved operating procedures.
●Regular checkup of the vessel to ensure that the environment is free from any pollution and safe against any potential hazards as per safety standard regulations.
●Keep the daily record of tank soundings, level of gauges and pressure release valves of the pipes and tanks.
●Operates cargo pumps and cargo valves during loading and discharging operations.
●Inspects cargo / fuel lines of any leakage for possible oil spill and check fittings are properly secured and safe against any potential hazards as per safety standard regulations.
