Contracted to DoD through Clifford W Jackson, Inc. to provide onsite and remote z/VM, z/Linux and z/OS systems programming support. Currently team member of a five person team responsible for supporting z/VM, z/Linux (SuSe),

(REHL) and z/OS. With a host of software products on IBM processors, including support for a DR (Disaster Recovery) Solution.

Thorough knowledge and proven ability to perform installation, maintenance, problem analysis and prevention, system tailoring, customization and administration, performance monitoring and tuning, and documentation of z/Linux guests. Experience with IBM z/VM in support of z/Linux and z/OS Proven ability to determine, analyze and resolve software and related problems.

Demonstrated high level communication skills and ability to develop positive relationships with customers, team members, vendor service providers and stakeholders. Experience installing and migrating new software releases. Accomplishments included:

Senior Systems Programmer responsible for installing z/VM, z/Linux and z/OS operating systems on IBM mainframes. Worked with senior Systems Programmers and NOMAD senior application developers.

• Have completed the install of a zEC13

• Carried fourth a z890 IBM mainframe and its customers to an IBM zBC12, zEC13 mainframe which included designed recommendations to bring forward ESCON channel attached devices (thru an OPTICA converter).

• Supported the Disaster Recovery solution at a designated offsite location, (using CA Product HIDRO).

• Installed SuSe Linux and REHL in an IFL LPAR, I installed Host on Demand under SuSe linux. Installed and supported DB2/VM and DB2/LUW running in the REHL (Red Hat Linux) environment. Also installed QMF to support DB2 and ORACLE Data Bases under z/Linux.

• I use scripting and CRON to schedule JOBS and transfer files to designated places and virtual machines and used YAST and SUDO for Linux Administration, configuration and installs.

• Installed IBM and third party software products such as the CA suite (VMTAPE, VMBACKUP, VMSECURE, VMARCHIVE, VMSPOOL, HIDRO) TCPIP, DFSMS, RSCS, NOMAD ULTRAQUEST DITTO GCS VMOPERATOR, RACF and DIRMAINT, Velocity software products ZMAP, ZMON, ZTCP and zVWs.

• I've installed STK/HSC tape library (SL8500) software in support of STK/Oracle and STK/Oracle T10K FICON VMTAPE and DFSMS (sharing option only)

• Installed Host on Demand (3270 Emulator) under Linux to support all customers using the z/VM WAAS applications. Designed and wrote hardware configurations to support all devices (IOCP).

• Wrote REXX EXECS to automate the Disaster Recovery process and converted EXEC and EXEC2 execs to REXX and CMS PIPES.

• Interfaced with customers understood and resolved problems, designed and implemented VSWITCH networks.

• Worked with z/OS and JCL CA/OPS/MVS automated tools to help the everyday work performed by Operators and systems administrators, in depth working knowledge of TSO, and JES2. EDUCATION
