Performed desk reviews of indirect cost rate submittals from over 200 Architectural and Engineering (A/E) companies that perform highway design work for the Ohio Dept. of Transportation (ODOT). This involved detailed financial analysis of voluminous amounts of data from financial management systems, including a full review for compliance with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. Identify errors, exceptions, and other questionable cost items on the Indirect Cost Rate Schedule. Adjusted indirect cost rates accordingly, based on preliminary findings. Work with financial management staff of the A/E companies to resolve the issues. Assist in the risk assessment of the various A/E companies. When appropriate, recommended more detailed reviews, including field-work audits to be performed by senior audit staff.
