Work Experience

October 2013 to Present – Riffle Machine Works, Chillicothe, Ohio

Manufacturing Site Support (MSS) facility providing warehouse operations, just-in-time/just-in-sequence JIT/JIS assemblies, and component kits to PACCAR and KENWORTH Chillicothe truck plant.

Quality Engineering Manager – Reporting to the plant manager for leading and directing the operations in continuous improvement and customer satisfaction measures. Teamed with the organization to reduce DPMO/PPM by 65% over the last two years through implementation of lean methods, standardized work, pick-to-light, scan-to-put away technologies and most recently with the implementation of a warehouse management system WMS.

November 2005 to June 2011 – Ohio Army National Guard, Columbus, Ohio

Brigade Operations and Training Officer / Executive Officer - Responsible for leading and directing the training and operations for 73rd Troop Command Soldiers. Duties included preparing yearly training plans for the Brigade ensuring they provided Soldiers with the training to mobilize and deploy with ready units when called for missions. Also, served as the Officer in Charge of the Brigade Emergency Operations Center (EOC) established to ensure situational awareness and operational response to Homeland Security missions assigned to the Brigade.

December 2001 to November 2005 – Ishikawa Gasket America Inc., Bowling Green, Ohio

Automotive cylinder head and exhaust manifold gasket manufacturer for the US and Japanese carmakers.

Quality Assurance Manager - Responsible for leading the total quality management activity in a QS 9000 certified facility. Led the facility through re-certification and surveillance audits totally free of findings or quality system shortfalls. Coordinated quality plans and presentations to OEM customers.

June 1998 to December 2001 – Thermoid, HBD Industries Inc., Bellefontaine, Ohio

Rubber hose manufacturer servicing industrial distribution and OEM markets.

Quality Assurance Manager - Responsible for leading the total quality management activity in an ISO 9001 certified facility. Led the facility through a full quality system certification cycle culminating in re-certification audit totally free of findings or quality system shortfalls. Coordinated quality plans and presentations to government quality assurance inspectors and Underwriters Laboratories inspectors.

Automotive fuel hose and anti-vibration component manufacturer for the Japanese transplant carmakers.

Quality Assurance Manager - Responsible for the compliance with internal and external customer requirements within DTR manufacturing and quality operations. Responsibilities included management of twenty staff and associate members along with monitoring and coordinating immediate corrective action to abnormalities. Quality Systems Manager - 1993 - 1997 - Reporting to the President, responsible for the development and implementation of a useable and manageable Quality System that meets customer requirements and supports Stolle’s World Class Manufacturing Strategy. Additional duties include management and supervision of the centralized quality support activities, management review, corrective actions, document control, auditing, metallurgy, materials engineering, materials testing, receiving inspection, and metrology.

Quality Assurance Manager - Responsible for developing and implementing programs to improve quality and productivity in a facility supplying door handle assemblies to the automotive and appliance industries. Significant activity during the assignment was to successfully lead the company through its first Chrysler Quality System Survey.

Decorative automotive trim company specializing in Class A surface anodized aluminum parts.

Quality Engineer - Responsible for implementation and sustainment of the statistical process control system at a stamping, roll forming and assembly supplier that made parts for the automotive industry. Duties included initial sample submissions on new and/or changed products, development of product control plans and inspection procedures, coordination with vendor, internal and customer engineering, quality and production personnel on items concerning product acceptance.

May 1977 - October 1986 - Hayes-Albion Corporation, Tiffin, Ohio

Gray and ductile Iron foundry supplying castings to automotive, truck and appliance customers.

Employee Action Team Facilitator - 1985 - 1986 - Responsible for management and implementation of employee quality circle program. Additional responsibilities included special statistical studies for Quality Manager, training SPC coordinators, assistance in initial sample inspection reports, SPC quarterly reports to Ford Motor Company, and liaison in customer contacts.

Melt Department Supervisor - 1983 - 1985 - Responsible for melting department supervision, discipline, quality, safety, morale and production requirements.

SPC Coordinator - 1981 - 1983 - Responsible for problem solving and overall SPC activities in the plant. Worked to develop computer and electronic data collection applications for SPC and routine data collection activities throughout the foundry.

Metallurgical Technician - 1977 - 1981 - Responsible for maintaining metallurgical controls on raw materials and the three molding lines producing gray and ductile iron castings.
