Human Resources Experience:

January 2000 to present: Started my own small business in Real Estate Records research called Advantage Title Services, LLC

Duties: Research and examine real estate title records at all county courthouses that we service (Polk, Burnett, Washburn, Barron, Sawyer, St. Croix & Pierce counties in WI). 1994 to 1997: Started working at Wal-Mart Store #2421, St. Croix Falls, WI as a Department Manager of Paper Goods & Chemicals and shortly after, became Department Manager of Foods Dept. Promoted to Personnel Manager in 1995.

Duties: As Dept. Mgr. of Paper Goods & Chemicals and Foods, my main responsibilities were to have employee coverage at all times in each dept., training and supervising as many as 3 to 4 employees, merchandising and inventory control of each Dept. to include daily/weekly ordering to prevent out of stock problems, setting-up POS displays, procuring weekly specials and promoting them, high customer contact and service, daily management meetings

As Personnel Manager, my primary duties were to recruit, hire & orientate new employees to include performing background checks, contacting past/current employers and references for prospective employees, initiating and facilitating all employee benefit programs for each employee, conducting pre-interviews before recommending the applicant to final interview with Store Asst. Mgrs., initiate and facilitate all Workmen’s Compensation claims/cases and work closely with all employees involved in WC claims, conduct exit interviews, initiate and process payroll for entire store, weekly scheduling of all Depts. for entire store, participate in local job fairs representing Wal-Mart #2421

I also established an “open-door” policy for all employees to be able to come to me personally and discuss any of their questions, concerns or problems they may have and it was very successful. The feedback was positive and

it helped to create an environment of mutual trust and cohesiveness between management and employees

May 1987 to September 1990: Employed as a Staffing Specialist for Improved Staffing, Alamorgordo, NM

Duties: As a Staffing Specialist for Improved Staffing, a temporary to long-term staffing agency, I was responsible for recruiting acceptable candidates to include initial application processes, administering integrity, math and safety tests, interviewing acceptable applicants, E-verification and background checks of all applicants, drug testing and placement of applicants with numerous manufacturing/assembly clients. Documentation and maintenance of all personnel records/information of applicants in workplace system. Responsible for proper handling and documentation of all injured workers and responding to hired employee payroll issues. Work closely with several manufacturing/assembly clients by maintaining safety standards and safety of all hired employees by conducting safety interviews and safety tours of worksites. Set up and participate in local Job Fairs and hiring events for Improved Staffing

I am currently seeking a position in Human Resources. I really enjoy Human Resources and I have a proven track record in this area. Operating and expanding my own small business over the past 15 years and supervising two full-time employees has been a welcome challenge for me.
