INTERNSHIP & WORK EXPERIENCE
AMC THEATER, COLUMBUS, OH Customer Service August 2015 – Current
While working at AMC I dealt with a different issue everyday which required teamwork, communication, and group problem-solving skills to fix.
PLATINOTECH, COLUMBUS, OH Freelance April 2014 – October 2014
Updated the look, design, and functionality website based on the demands of the client. This project involved constant communication between me and the client throughout the design process.
OHIO SUPER COMPUTER CENTER, COLUMBUS, OH March 2011 – May 2011
Internship
Assisted a Graduate student on his thesis on automated cars. In this project we tested Rumbas and their light detection. The project utilized a virtual environment programmed in C to test different parameters on the Rumbas.
PROJECTS OVERVIEW
SQL Server: Boat Rental Project
Created a Database for a boat rental company in its class which had multiple tables, relationships, queries, and joins. This database was used to find how much some customer owned in a boat rental, how much each boat was making and the type of boat, and if someone was qualified to run a boat based on a given data-set. Developed the queries based upon client specifications. Presentation has been prepared addressing the questions and concerns given by a client.
Microsoft Access: Airport Project
Created a database for an airport which tracked planes, passengers, and flight companies and tracked their data to determine vital information for the airport. Used multiple joins and queries.
SQL: Bits and Books
One of the current project is on designing an online Bookstore database from scratch. Specifications have been collected from class instructor. This project involves collaboration, mapping of entities such as ERD diagrams, SQL code and queries. Database performance enhancements and design improvements have been included as part of the project specifications.
Python: K Distance Project
Considered Airport data in a shape file and was able to convert it into a data using GDAL and sorted them and plotted them based on number of airports in the state onto the map and found their K-Distance. This data presented the distribution of US airport locations on the map.
Multiple other projects on Python have been completed using basic loops, functions, and recursions.
Java: Gettysburg Address Genome project
This project was developed using Gettysburg address data-set. The String genome algorithm was used for this project. First the data was scrambled. Then queue data structure and quick sort methods have been used to unscramble it to form the actual document.
Also created and implemented multiple sub-classes, super classes, and interfaces that were connected through inheritance.
Java: Object Oriented projects:Musical Playlist Project
Simulated a music play-list in Java. Each play-list class consisted of an array list of song objects which were set up in a FIFO data structure. Each song had attributes including song name, album, and band. This class inherited and overrode all its methods from another class. Then these two classes have been implemented a play-list that can import tracks, play a track, add a new track, and quit and show the remaining tracks.
OO Project2: College simulator project
Utilizing a person object and objects that use the inheritance of this object I created a list of people in college and their roles. I created the person object and then from there created objects based on role for their relation to the school. This would define these people better and utilized inheritance and polymorphism.
