Supervise the work activities of custodial staff and participate in accomplishing the work. Train and instruct new employees. Monitor and evaluate work performance and maintain performance records. Recommend promotions and dismissals. Determine need for temporary custodians.

Hire and train staff members in housekeeping, and on proper techniques of cleaning the University, such as classrooms, common areas, restrooms, and office cleaning.

Provide training on floor care and the proper way of maintaining VCT tile floor, and carpet extraction plan.

Set and coordinate schedules, task assignments and allocation of hours and equipment.

Develop and recommend policies and procedures for campus custodial operations. Develop instructions for standardized methods for work performance and for the control of materials and equipment.

Monitor inventories of custodial supplies and equipment; prepare orders for cleaning products, equipment and supplies, etc.

Communicate with campus officials and staff to facilitate special event preparation adequacy of services and disseminate information about the services offered.

Conduct routine inspections to control level of maintenance. Provide written documentation to Facility Director monthly.

Ensure availability of safety equipment and knowledge of ADA requirements, OSHA safety regulations, and blood-borne pathogens

Determine budget requirements and prepare recommendations.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Provide training yearly on Hazmat, and Material Safety Data Sheet.

Provide training on stripping and waxing floor.

Handles University commencement activities in collaboration with Student Services and Enrollment Services.

Implemented a preventive maintenance program on equipment.

Implemented a program with PCR regarding our empty printer cartridge recycling program where the University receive a check for all ink and toner cartridges.

Implemented as a single stream recycling program with QRS, and once a month we receive a print out on how much each building is recycling.

Implemented policy for paid overtime.

Implemented a call in and vacation policies procedures.

Implemented a plan to eliminate third shift and just have two shifts, 1st and 2nd shift to help reduce the cost of utility.
