I am happiest with a role that requires staying current in a fast-changing field. I like to learn new facts, and skills and apply the information at work. I thrive in a dynamic work environment where asked to take on short project assignments which require learning a lot about the new subject in a short period of time, completing the project and then moving on to the next project.

I instinctively honor deadlines. I have old fashioned views concerning loyalty to my employer, what it means to be a CPA and putting the client first. I extend unconditional regard to colleagues, clients and all people I meet. MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTANT

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center – Danville, KY Jan 1995 – May 1996 Accounting Manager (Assistant Controller)

In each case, one or more of the listed financial problems were seriously in need of attention.

Absence of or major inadequacy of financial records, reliable evidentiary matter or financial statements

Obsolete or lack of computers

Untrained or under-performing staff

Serious to utter disregard of accepted accounting procedures

Cash flow problems leading to adverse supplier relations

Inattention to tracing and collecting aged accounts receivable

Staff morale problems

Little to no internal control procedures

In each case, I was employed to address the issues. In each cash I succeeded---sometimes very well indeed. My efforts at MetPath became the model for all MetPath facilities in the western united states. All newly hired controllers spent several weeks in Denver learning our procedures. For a period of time I was Controller in both Los Angeles and Denver simultaneously.

Each situation came to an end for a different reason but I was always well regarded and left each place far better than I found it.

INCOME TAX ACCOUNTANT

My accounting career began as an intern and then staff with a large, full service Denver CPA firm. The owner was a genius at tax practice and I fell in love with every aspect of tax service from bookkeeping, local and state taxes to accounting for retirement plans and other complex tax returns. SOLE PROPRIETOR 1984 - 1987

Young children and a remote home in the mountain foothills required that I be close to home and free to answer the children’s needs. I began what I believed would be a “boutique” firm with a few clients. We lived near Conifer and Evergreen which were rapidly growing. My “boutique” soon required a staff and my working long into the night. My clients were a mixture of great diversity up to and including a professional gambler. These were my small business management advisory years. I taught numerous wives to “do the books” with the precursor of Quick Books. Management advisory services became my favorite engagement. I represented a number of clients before the IRS who had used a “problem preparer” in prior years. Resume 4.16

My career took second place to my husband’s and to the children’s needs. We also undertook care of our declining parents. We have lived in five states (Colorado twice).
