Project Title : Financial Business Rules System

The Financial Business Rule System is a flexible customized Business Rule management system designed to capture and maintain all business rules related to Financial and Management Reporting and it is the enterprise-wide authoritative source of common information feeding the Bank's core Financial Management Systems. This system offers benefits such as common effective-dating for all business rules, a straightforward method for creating new business rules and an instant web interface for new rules.

The following are the main functionalities of this Financial Business Rule System.

• Create new business rules based on requests from business

• Create data for business rules based on validations in an effective date way.

• Update the business rules if there is request from the other applications or necessary.

Project Title : People Soft Apps Upgrade

Industry : Banking

Team size : 2

Environment : Third party application from Oracle and is developed using People Code.

Description:

The PeopleSoft Application upgrade project will upgrade the existing application from version 8.9 to version 9.1, including not only the continuity of existing functionality, but also the identification of all viable opportunities to leverage unused existing PeopleSoft functionality, or new version 9.1 functionality, to both improve RBS’s financial reporting processes, and to reverse existing customizations and ‘return to base’.

This PS Application 9.1 Upgrade will be implemented in two Phases. The Phase I upgrade will produce equivalent functionality in the upgraded system as follows:

Current customizations not impacted by new functionality in the new version will be brought across.

Current customizations impacted by new functionality will be assessed and will be brought across as a customization. Any new functionality required will be implemented in Phase II.

Functionality not currently in use is out of scope.

Regression testing will occur to test that key functional components remain in tact as part of the upgrade

Changes to functional configuration will not be made.

As a part of PeopleSoft Application Upgrade Phase II, PS Online journals are enabled with document attachment which improves the efficiency of journal process and approval, and improves audit/control of online processing. The user will be able to add, delete and modify attachment till the journal is not submitted for approval. The document attachment will have no impact on journal processing without attachment.

As part of PeopleSoft Application Upgrade Phase 2, Spreadsheet is upgraded to new version for Excel 2003 and 2007/10, and the accompanying WegGL PeopleCode changes to support the spreadsheet.
