Project 1:

CITI Bank Zambia:

Business Need: Central bank of Zambia was replacing its existing RTGS system from Prego to Montran. Due to this regulatory requirement Citi bank Zambia had to ensure that it meets all the regulatory needs as per Central bank guidelines with respect to Montran.

Solution: All RTGS Outgoing MT103 format changes were handled through existing Flexcube functionality, only 1 requirement was handled through code change. For incoming MT103 RTGS payments, STP logic were modified to ensure that contracts are booked STP’ed. Implemented on 1st September 2014.

Project 2:

CITI Bank Cameroon & Senegal:

Business Need: CITI Cameroon & CITI Senegal were facing Swift rejects from Central bank ($20 per reject) due to invalid details in some of the tags in the outgoing MT103 RTGS pass-through payments sent from CITI bank.

Solution: Logic was setup through in-build Flexcube functionality (Message Enrichment & User defined fields) to handle the rejects from Central bank. Implemented on 1st September 2014.

CITI Bank Gabon:

Business Need: CITI Gabon wanted to automate its incoming LCY, FCY & Cross border payments from swift (MT103) along with auto cover matching functionality.

Solution: Logic was setup through in-build Flexcube functionality (Message Enrichment & User defined fields) to handle the requirements. Implemented on 07th February 2014.

Project 4:

CITI Bank – SSA cluster RTGS payments migration to Unified Payments module:

Business Need: To standardize RTGS payment processing across SSA cluster and migrate to Unified payments module.

Solution: RTGS payment processing was analysed across SSA cluster country by country through generated MT103 Outgoing payments, production volumes. Payment processing was documented and shared with client.

CITI Bank Nigeria – E-bills

Business Need: Utility bill payments are currently handled manually, in order to meet the increasing demand from customers and to remain competitive online Utility bill payments were introduced by Citi bank

Solution: Prepared Flexcube specific BRD. Handle the required changes through User defined field in Flexcube.

CITI Bank – Africa Re - platforming:

Business Need:

Solution: GRE system converted MT940 & MT942 into MT103 for payments to process into Flexcube, GAP analysis was done between MT103 received from GRE with MT103 received from Swift network. Format changes and Tag level changes were identified and communicated.

Project 7:

CITI Bank – STP Analysis:

Business Need: SSA cluster SCOO requested to automate the manual booking of FT payments across SSA Cluster this will reduce operational cost.

Solution: Six months production data was analysed for all CITI bank branches across SSA cluster. Cost benefit analysis was shared with all the stakeholders, Gabon & Senegal branches were selected for the improvement process due to huge repair volumes faced by these branches.
