This project allows end users to post Macys products on face book wall or can send private messages to the face book friends and get poll for the products. So, it gives a feel like shopping with friends/family.

Social shopping has complex business logic and interaction with various existing Macys systems and with external face book applications. It includes user Interface development, business flow with timer event generators and interaction with FaceBook applications using Janrain and Herokue.

When Items are being added to the shopping bag of Macys online portal, the system should perform a check with the inventory and update the cache with the new count, during the holiday season the items inventory changes rapidly and this effect the business.

This projects used Active MQueues for asynchronous communication among various mid-tier components. The Application interacts with Quartz scheduler and retrieves the data from the database and update cache for various mid-tier applications. High availability, data persistence, transaction management and Data Transformation are the key features for this project.

Write test cases by understanding the existing legacy system which do not have documentation

Test that no functionality missed during the migration

Achievements:

Extensively tested the error flows and handled many defects regarding the new code change.
