MEDIA PREPARATION

ANTIBIOTIC SENSITIVITY & REPORTING

If growth occurs in correlation with clinical diagnosis like Multi Drug Resistance(MDR), Expanded Spectrum Beta Lactamase (ESBL),Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), or Beta lytic streptococcal Infection, respiratory infection or not. Based on CLSSC rules approved internationally, classification of streptococcus by Agglutination Test etc.

MYCOLOGY & MYCOBACTERIOLOGY

Identification of yeast- by using automation like MINI API, and sensitivity of anti-fungal like, Itraconazole, fluconazole, Amphotericin B on MHAGB medium.

Identification of Fungi -Pencillium, Aspergillus, Rhizopus, Fusarium, Rhodrotula etc.

Identification of Yeast - Cryptococcus, C.tropicalis, C.parapsilosis, etc.,

Mycobacterium culture by Bact alert TB bottles, maintenance of standard strains.

Preparation of AFB smear by direct and concentration techniques, both by Zeil

Neilson and Auramine staining.

SEROLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY

Serological test like:-Leotospira IgM, Dengue IgM, HIV, HBsAg, HCV, HBcore IgM, HAV IgM, HEV IgM, HBeAg /anti HBeAg, HBcore IgM, Chlamydia IgG-IgM, Mycoplasma IgM, Torch panel both IgG & IgM, ANA profile, ANA, HIV western blot.

Rapid tests like:- ASO,RA, IM, CRP, VDRL, Cryptococcus Antigen test etc.

Daily QC Analysis:-

a)For daily prepared media.

b)For antibiotics against standard ATCC strains.

c)Weekly subculture of standard ATCC strains.

d)Daily subculture of Fastidious strains

e)Water culture using Macconkey broth, food culture etc

f)Gram stain, AFB stain etc

Under infection control:-

Reporting of Nosocomial infections, MRSA when Doctors are advised to treat patient in isolation with critical care.

Surveillances sterility check of Machines and Environment in OT by using sterile plate exposure technique.
