Summary of Qualifications

Interview patients (in English and Spanish), obtain their medical history, document their medications, review records, report any new injuries, exacerbations or medical procedures.

Accompany patient and physician in the examining room to translate questions and responses as needed, and record physical examination findings.

Transcribe all medical evaluations (Initial, follow-up, reevaluation, discharge and med-legal reports) from doctors dictations and chart notes.

Hire and train new employees on the procedures in the transcription dept., distribute dictations, proofread and give corrections to subordinates, and log the work in and out, on a daily basis.

Review and edit transcribed reports or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, proper medical terminology, make any changes indicated, and submit for physician’s final review and signature.

Observe and evaluate employees and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service, and complete disciplinary write-ups.

Attend all staff meetings, take minutes, and make recommendations.
