Worked as an engineer on their NTPC power plant project using the application of their inbuilt Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

Furnace Control of the boilers was the primary goal which was achieved with different boiler level parameters such as steam switch level, pressure level, and drum level.

Various Field Bus Modules, Field Control Processors and Field Expansion Modules were used.

Functions of these I/P and O/P, I/A Series were taught and understood.

Achieved the connection between Hardware and the Plant using FOXVIEW simulations.

Modified using FOXDRAW and FOXArchestrA.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Cloud Computing Networking, TCP Performance Degradation in the Virtual machine

Examined the effect of TCP degradation by consolidation of nineteen VMs on a multi-core PM

The PM used for this testing is an MSI 760GM-P25 (FX) main board with an AMD Athlon IIx2 3.4 GHz CPU (overclocked to 4 GHz) paired with 16GB of RAM

Oracle VirtualBox (version 4.3.10) was selected as our hypervisor on Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) with openSUSE (v13.1) as the guest OS on the VMs

This project limited our study to Internet Protocol version 4 or IPv4 network topologies and the VMs network interface cards (NICs) were configured to only support IPv4.

Limited the study of TCP traffic on the virtualized network address translation (NAT) network available from the VirtualBox simulation software. Additional changes were made to the VirtualBox NAT networks to increase the default values for TCP receive and transmit buffers and Maximum Transmission Unit

(MTU) using the recommended values described by in the VirtualBox documentation for NAT set. SATHVIK RAO PAGE 2

Design and Operation of Hexapod Autobot Using ROS

Understands the basic operations of a robot and implementated them on multiple leg autobot

During the operation focused on the problem during the simulation of complex robots on how the robots can from the simulation stage to the actual reality.

Steps taken in order to make the simulator communicate with a real robot, using a ROS plugin and remote API.

Simulated using V-Rep.

ALARM Sensor/Window Open Detector

Developed a touch plate sensor which would send out an alarm when the touch plate is deactivated.

A 555 timer IC was used in the circuit

A GPS can also be connected to the output source which will provide current location and time. Thesis Topic: A GROUP SECURE KEY MANAGEMENT PROTOCOL FOR SATELLITE MULTICAST SYSTEMS USING ELLIPTIC CURVE CRYPTOGRAPHY PRIMITIVES

Summary: Satellite Data Security has become an issue of great importance . The work involved communication satellites with a wide range of applications military, weather forecasting, mobile communication, Internet, TV/radio broadcasting and digital communication. Also involved Broadcast communications comprising multiple users and sources. With regular joining and leaving of members, security has become the biggest concern. In TV broadcasting, the Conditional Access Systems consist of the smart cards which represents a major security risk and a method for secure user identification, verification and authentication needed to be implemented. For a secure satellite multicast system, encrypted data from the source is broadcast to its various destinations. A Group Secure Key Management protocol (GSAKMP) involving Logical Key Hierarchy (LKH) protocol utilizing Elliptical Curve Cryptography primitives, which is a public key cryptography scheme, was designed. The LKH protocol limits the effects of member join –leave events by rekeying a single section instead of the complete topology tree. The mathematical modelling and design were implemented on Network Simulator 2.35 (NS-2) with C++ and Otcl codes on a Linux operating system and the network animator was used to depict the simulations and for comparative analysis.
