Using my experience as an Accounting Manager/Office Administrator (in both public accounting and private industry), along with a knowledge of Microsoft Office, I have learned to think more creatively. This has led to solutions in reducing time in accomplishing office tasks and reports to management, while increasing the accuracy.

Bachelor of Science in Administrative Sciences conferred by Montclair State University.

Areas of knowledge include: Financial Statement Preparation; ADP Payroll (including payroll taxes, garnishments and other employee deductions), Benefits Administration; Accounts Payable and Receivable; and some with Timberline Payroll.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Accounting/Office Manager March 2002 – May 2013

Heavy equipment repair facility, 25 employees

Fully responsible for payroll, HRIS and all other office functions.

•Greatly reduced 401k processing time using links to Excel payroll schedules, generating 401k contributions and company match schedules. This reduced 401k processing time by 80%, and virtually eliminated errors! Because of this, the time required to prepare the Form 5500 at year end was drastically reduced.

•Assisted Vice President in financial statement and balance sheet preparation as well as month-end closing.

•Performed all Accounts Payable functions, including coding, input, check selection and printing and review of all the above which was done by the payables clerk as well. I also had full signatory authority for check signing.

•Performed all Accounts Receivable functions, including invoice preparation, printing, posting payments received on account and preparing daily bank deposits. All this was also performed by a receivables clerk, whose work was reviewed by myself. Verified deposits with independent Excel schedules prepared for monitoring sales (cash and credit), invoicing and receipts.

•Performed monthly bank reconciliation using Excel schedules listed above for comparison to bank statement.

•Helped support staff increase value to the company by improving computer skills and office procedures.

•By creating daily sales and receipts schedules, management gained access to up to the minute data for decision making.

Achievements: Completely redesigned office procedures, making extensive use of Microsoft Excel to record, check and maintain daily, weekly and monthly figures re: sales, cash receipts, 401k and payroll. This redesign allowed for a reduction in office staff, saving in excess of $50,000 per year. Because of efficiencies, was able to assume more of the duties of the Vice President.

• Responsible for all accounting, human resources, payroll (ADP) and benefits functions.

• Performed and supervised all administrative functions, including accounting and reporting, receivables,

payables and billing.

Achievements: Upgraded and brought all functions to a professional management and accounting level. Improved PC general ledger functions (Peachtree Complete III) and implemented the use of Microsoft Excel for all analyses and consolidated reporting procedures. Implemented programs to reduce exposure to statutory penalties (for example, implemented procedures for COBRA processing).

Position was eliminated upon merging with Intellimark.
