I am a operations and technology savvy business partner with senior level experience who has led large organizations and several project initiatives for industry leaders Merrill Lynch and Citigroup. I have led many initiatives in support of business strategy in many diversified business environments including rapid business growth, consolidations, and in-source and outsource that resulted in significant effectiveness and efficiency.

At Merrill Lynch, led the development and implementation of key management initiatives:

A backup & disaster recovery capability that was delivered in record time at cost of $69 million, which was $14 million less than the $83 million planned capital budget. On 9-11-01, the terrorist attack on America, implemented an immediate and successful recovery of the data centers to the backup site to maintain business continuity.

A large-scale investment in the technical infrastructure that resulted in a significant cost restructure to annual operating expenses. Annual expenses were reduced $86 million from $262 to $176 million in 21 months, processing capacity increased 42% and service delivery performance increased 40%.

Improved Employee satisfaction 23%.

At Citicorp, led the development and implementation of several change management project initiatives:

Relocated a data center followed shortly thereafter with 2 large data center startup initiatives to augment capacity in order to support rapid business growth and related distributed operational expansion strategy. Led the architectural and operational planning for intra-site systems and application processing.

Led the architectural planning and implementation of a command center that centralized the management and control over networks and computer consoles distributed across a multi-site environment. Received the Chairman’s award for innovative technology and pioneering Citicorp’s first command center.

Led the planning and implementation to consolidate 5 large data centers to 4 resulting in greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Led several initiatives to consolidate processing for internal business mergers in the US, Canada, and Europe to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency.“

A business continuity and disaster recovery capability that was named best in class by the Federal Bank Examiners.

Responsible for US mainframe and mid-range data centers and web hosted services; an operating budget of $262 Million and an organization of 7 direct reports and 450 systems and data center personnel. Responsible for managing several key strategic global vendor business relationships including IBM Corporation, EMC Corporation, Computer Associates and Exodus to assure an effective partnership was maintained based on a balance of trade between our companies .

Responsible for leading project management development and implementation plans for startup data centers in South Dakota, Nevada, and Maryland and a command center in Maryland. Assumed additional responsibility for data centers in New Jersey and New York as part of a major consolidation project initiative.

Led the planning, which included operating budget, recruiting, hiring, and staff training, engineering and design of the data centers, systems and application processing transition, configuration planning, acquisition of hardware and software, and backup and recovery capability. The Federal bank examiners recognized the reciprocal backup as best in class amongst US banks.

Streamlined cross-functional organizations to eliminate duplication, enhance control, standardize policy, process and procedures.

Led the architectural and operational planning for a central stand-alone command center to manage and control the data centers. Received the Chairman’s award for technical innovation in recognition of this accomplishment.

Recognized in an independent benchmark study as the low unit cost provider of data processing services amongst the 10 largest Banks issuing credit cards in the U.S.

Established an outsource service agreement for the US credit card merchant business sold to an investor group.

Led the project management planning and implementation to consolidate in-house credit card processing for Canada, Europe, and Diners Club International to US data centers.
