Project Management

A.

A network conversion project valued at 70 Million SAR involving Supply, Dismantling and Installation of SwitchGears, Package SubStations and Transformers for the Royal Palaces in Makkah and Taif. This served as a very healthy platform for introduction to aspects related to Project Management and issues pertaining to planning for Electrical solutions. Various Activities:

i. Survey of Transformers and preparation of documents for manufacturers’ reference.

ii. Preparation of substation wise priority lists for project execution. iii. Preparing and Presenting Invoicing And Collection Plans. iv. Preparation of Invoice Generation solution using MS Access. v. Gate passes documentation, negotiation and preparation. (as per Royal Protocol guidelines)

vi. Preparation and arrangements for Factory Acceptance Tests. vii. Drafting out the terms of Agreement with Subcontractors. viii. Primary Customer Interface during leave of project manager. ix. Monthly progress reporting to customer during leave of project manager. x. Preparation of spares list for Project during Execution. After Sales Projects

A Critical Quality Issue involving Repair activity for the SM6 line of SwitchGears.

The issue was critical due to the hazard involved in operation of the equipment declared under this Global Product Safety Alert.

Various Activities:

i. Identification of Customers supplied with equipment affected by the OSA. ii. Initial Site survey for confirmation of relevant details. iii. Ordering spares for repair activity.

iv. Coordination and arranging with customers to facilitate repair activity. v. Monthly progress reporting to the Global Offer Safety Alert leaders. vi. Preparing and submitting necessary documents for Reimbursement of Expenses incurred due to Recall activity.

Customer Claims

i. Receiving Communication (Internal/External) about defective product or Site works Issue.

ii. Registration and documentation of all Customer Claims. iii. Acknowledging and Advising the Customers claims and advising them about an expected time frame for resolving the same.

iv. Placing an order for required components and following up on availability and forwarding the same to site for replacement.

v. Carrying out required coordination for site service requests. vi. Monthly progress reporting to counterparts in the Quality Assurance department. This includes reports for financial overhead costs as well as progress reports for various issues on hand.

6 Months In-plant Internship:
