Initial assignment as a Senior Materials Coordinator in Astano, Spain for the building of the Discoverer Deep Seas Drillship. Responsible for purchasing all initial rig inventory and start up materials. Established and maintained 14 million dollar warehouse. Assigned to Discoverer Deep Seas for 8 years and set up the warehouse on the rig from scratch and then transfered to the Discoverer Clear Leader at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering shipyard in Okpo, Goje-do, South Korea to do the same thing again---purchase all rig inventory and start up materials/equipment and have everything necessary for the voyage of the Drillship back to the Gulf of Mexico and set up the warehouse. I've set up (2) Offshore Installation Warehouse's from scratch. My regular duties included: Supported normal drilling operations through inventory control and management; Operate proprietary inventory management and purchasing software; Hotshot parts and materials to rig during downtime and emergencies; Control warehouse access to ensure proper billing and inventory control using the Empac and ICS Systems; Coordinate with marine and aviation personnel to ensure logistics needs are met; Assist shore side management with budgeting and project planning; Liaise with shore-side purchasing agents, vendors, and customs brokers to ensure import / export logistics operate smoothly and maintain acceptable lead times; Mentor new personnel to warehouse position; Prepare manifests (Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests and generic non-hazardous waste manifesting as needed) and properly track and label hazardous materials and waste.
