IBM Silicon Valley Labs: ( Jun 2015 to Mar 2016) : DB2 BLU for Linux/Unix/Windows Worked for the Compiler Optimizer team of In Memory Columnar data base.

Analyzed the optimizer plans of queries and identified the cause for invalid plan generation, poor performance of the query etc.

Involved in the development of enabling a feature called First Fetch N Rows(FFNR) in the columnar store. FFNR is a feature which is often used to fetch only the first few rows for analytic purposes. It was supported in the traditional row store of DB2 already. During this development FFNR was also enabled in the columnar store. Enabling it in the columnar store helped to improve the performance of the analytic query.
