TECHNICAL PROJECTS
Retrofit Advanced Dynamics Laboratory, McMaster University December, 2015
Assessed the building for major energy sources and areas of end use including building envelope, HVAC, distribution system, lighting system, internal loads, etc.
Focused on the structural components of the audit, and performed the simulation using tools such as Infrared Thermography, RETscreen, E3 and CUSUM to come up with energy conservation measures.
Recommended modifications and design of integrated building systems, which had the potential to save 60% of the expenditure on electricity & heating bill with a payback period of less than 2 years. Design of McMaster LRT Terminal Station, McMaster University April, 2015
Performed an Urban Strategy Revitalization Plan within the 400 meter radius of the proposed B-Line LRT Terminal Station.
Developed the strategic vision based on Transportation Demand Management, Interactivity, Connectivity, Sustainability and Smart Commute Hamilton.
Designed various Structures and developed Storm Water and Waste Management policies for the surrounding 400 meter radius. Design and Analysis of Raft Foundation April, 2014
Performed Geotechnical investigation on the proposed site in the form of cone penetration, tri-axial shear, particle size analysis, soil compaction, and water content.
Prepared detailed layout of 4000ft.2 Raft foundation indicating all sections using AutoCAD.
Foundation design and analysis for the shear strength and resistance to bending moments, using SAFE, and confirmed the specifications on Excel.
Replacing Normal Aggregates with RCA in concrete May, 2014
Performed iterative strength tests on concrete blocks made from Recycled Concrete Aggregate up to 75% replacement ratio.
Replacement ratios of up to 45% produce negligible strength reduction, rendering the masonry suitable for general use, which can contribute to a potential 10% cost saving during new construction.
Prepared a Technical paper describing the project and results, published in a civil engineering journal (IJRASET / Sept. 2014). LANGUAGES
