My main responsibility as a Project Manager was to organize and to control projects– coordinate work with the client to complete business and functional requirements, define scope and budget of the project, schedule final and intermediate deliverables, facilitate development activities, ensure resources’ availability and competence, work with all involved parties, including remote development and supply teams, to guarantee fulfilment of all project milestones. I was responsible projects for significant players in automotive industry – Volkswagen, BMW, Audi. My duties included organizing project activities with accordance to internal project process which covers all aspects of project deliverables – feature completion, problems resolution, product quality, project budget reports, product documentation and post mortem analysis with action list for improvements. I was responsible for regular reports to the company's executives on the project progress – status of development, evaluation of project risks with the plan to mitigate risks, project budget status. Project Technical Leader – Quality Assurance Group 2002 – June, 2005

ATI Technologies Inc. (Hand-held Products Division)

Led handheld Software Quality Assurance group (12 engineers), and was involved in all SQA activities throughout the project development life cycle. Main product of the group was a complete testing solution (for both: HW and SW) for Graphics and Multi-Media functionality of the various handheld devices: PDAs, cell phones, game gadgets.

Responsible for defining and establishing adequate quality assurance processes within both: QA group as well as in SW development team, which helped to mitigate risk of faulty deliverables to the customers.

Assessed product requirements (internal and external), worked with the group on test plans to ensure sufficient test coverage of SW code and HW functionality, including stress, performance, and compliance. Participated in planning of tests’ development and reviews of the results - processed the results’ statistics and quality matrices, generated proposals on quality improvements, and ensured their actual implementation and execution.

Constantly reviewed and prioritised problems’ database and monitored problem resolution status. Actively communicated with customers for quality improvement actions. Planned S/W releases with coordination between SW groups on release schedule and release deliverables. Personally created procedure and documented it for SW development and qualification processes. Screened candidates’ resumes, conducted interviews and selected candidates for the group.

Executive Project Manager 1999 – 2002

Typhoon Technologies Inc. (Matrox Graphics Inc. R&D Centre - Toronto, Canada)

Project Manager for two ASIC projects – G550 and Sun Dog (Parhelia-family) with 70+ engineers involved. Major duties included: project scheduling, resources allocation, day-to-day status review of the project progress with team managers and leads, follow-up on development problems with corresponding corrections on priorities for all involved groups (ASIC, PHD, Validation, SW) and individuals as well. Worked with marketing and sales teams on project feature list details, demo system requirements. Regularly communicated with upper management on project status.

Personally was in charge of the Validation and SW groups. For the whole period of working at Matrox was responsible for preparation of the Typhoon Centre R&D reports for the Canada Grant Agency.

SW Manager: Driver Development and Validation 1996 – 1999

Typhoon Technologies Inc. (Matrox Graphics Inc. R&D Centre - Toronto, Canada)

In charge of Software development and HW validation groups (~30 engineers).

Was responsible for all aspects of computer graphics technology support: developing drivers for a 3D graphic accelerator; developing bit-accurate C-model for the next generation 3D accelerator chip, developing tools to facilitate HW validation process. Activities included: HW architecture spec definition with the follow-up reviews of HW design specs, developing spec for the driver (Display Driver, D3D Driver, and ICD), job assignments to designers with follow-up control of completion, design of spec for tools and test flow for HW validation. Responsible for the global schedule of the SW portion of the project (C-model, driver, Validation tools) and day-to-day tracking of the schedule to ensure meeting milestones. Was a major player in building the Matrox Centre in Markham from scratch and bringing it to successfully functioning engineering team.
