Respiratory Therapist

Patient advocate committed to delivering direct and quality driven care to a wide range of patients from diverse backgrounds. Provide services to patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). Tasked with troubleshooting issues, reviewing prescriptions, processing equipment replacements and providing accurate administration of all patient history into the electronic medical system.

Provide exceptional support to patients serving as key resource while coordinating the implementation of all routine care procedures based upon company policies and procedures.

Read, evaluate and if needed recommend modifications to physician's orders to optimize patient care.

Follow up with patients for 30-days to ensure proper usage of machinery.

Ensure the proper and safe function of the machine, communicate clearly and effectively with patients.

Conduct patient education by explaining planned therapy or procedure and goals to patient in understandable terms to achieve optimal therapeutic outcome.

Work with technician and patients to conduct therapeutic procedures to maintain a patent airway, remove bronchopulmonary secretions, and achieve adequate ventilation & oxygenation.

Monitor patient's physiological responses to therapy, recognize patient adverse reaction.

Consult, collaborate with and educate medical staff, multi-disciplinary care team members, and patients/families.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare processes and procedures.
