Educational Experience

B.S., Web Design & Development, Brigham Young University – Idaho April 2018

Created multiple website layouts using HTML5 and CSS3.

Developed web apps using MySQL and PHP.

B.S., Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science minor, Brigham Young University, GPA: 3.10 August 2013

Developed a Java HTTP server and client. The client imitated the FamilySearch indexing program. It allowed users to log into their own account, download images to index via an HTTP connection, perform operations on the image such as zooming and inverting, and send an image back in exchange for a new one. The server stored information for the client (or, theoretically, multiple clients). It used a SQLite database to store multiple indexing projects, each of which contained multiple images, each of which, in turn, contained multiple records. It also authenticated users and managed batch assignment.

Developed C++ software including an adapter to prepare inputs for the Calculix finite element solver, a program with a GUI and OpenGL 3D graphics, and algorithms for calculus and root-finding computations.

CAE experience includes NX, Pro/ENGINEER, Inventor, Catia, HyperWorks, multi-user CAE, and a considerable amount of top-down parametric modeling. Also developed CAD methodology for Pratt & Whitney.

Membership in ASME and ACM.

Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America.

Two semesters mentoring elementary school robotics competition teams.

Two years missionary service working on an individual level with people of diverse backgrounds. Trained and supervised other missionaries.

Interests include model building and calligraphy.
