Summary

An oil and gas industry professional that has relocated to the United States of America. With six years of experience in different areas, including data and well logging, well testing, drilling fluids, core analysis both in the field and in industrial laboratories, I am committed to using and developing technologies to generate valuable data which will help clients make the best decisions on time every time. Professional Goal

To be a project leader in the industry using my skill sets and engineering background to assist the organization in driving productivity and enhance processes to have competitive advantage in a global market. Education

Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

B.S. in Chemical Engineering, December 2009

Professional Experience

Petrophysics/Chemical Analyst (July 2014 - Present) Petricore Houston, USA and Villahermosa, Mexico, also known as DTK Laboratories, Stratascan Laboratories.

Main responsibilities:

• Initial core handling and sampling (core screening, core preparation, core orientation, design of plug sampling program from core, plug rubber sleeving).

• Core cleaning methods (Dean-Stark apparatus, Soxhlet extraction apparatus, toluene/methanol gas-driven solvent extraction).

• Performing core gamma-ray logging using Petricore technology to determine radioactive isotopes in core samples (uranium, thorium, potassium, total gamma).

• Porosity and permeability analysis of core samples using PDP-300, AP-608. Determination of Klinkenberg Corrected permeability, transient, pressure decay permeability measurement, permeability (air equivalent permeability at specified mean pressure), Klinkenberg slip factor "b", inertial Coefficients (Beta and Alpha), pore volume of core sample, porosity).

• Performing LPSA (Laser Particle Size Analysis) using Mastersizer 3000 to determine the distribution and size of particles in rock samples.

• Performing capillary pressure analysis, wettability and relative permeability on plugs (gas-water and water-oil drainage and imbibition test) using Beckman L8-80 Ultracentrifuge and Resifuge 3 Software, as well as RS Systems automatic centrifuge.

• Interpretation of results and generation of reports. Data and Mud Logger/Well Testing Engineer (January 2014 - July 2014) Diversified Well Logging Mexico

Main responsibilities:

• Observation and microscopic examination of drill cuttings, describing the rock.

• Evaluation of gas hydrocarbon and its constituents.

• Basic chemical and physical parameters of drilling fluid (mud weight, mud viscosity, chlorides, temperature, retort, filtrate, filter cake)

• Monitoring mud logging drilling parameters in real time: rate of penetration (ROP) of the bit, pump rate, pump pressure, weight on bit, drill string weight, rotary speed, rotary torque, RPM (Revolutions Per Minute), SPM

(Strokes Per Minute), mud volumes in pits, mud weight and mud viscosity.

• Keeping track, graph and interpret borehole pressures, DC exponent, and other critical parameters.

• Characterizing downhole fluids through physical and chemical analyses: Oil-in-water content measurement per modified ASTM International 3921, basic sediment and water (BS&W) analysis by centrifuge in accordance with ASTM D4007, determination of chloride ion concentration by titration (Mohr’s Method), specific gravity determined by handheld densitometer at specified temperature, pH, conductivity, detection and analysis of C1–C5 hydrocarbon composition by chromatography, detection and analysis of H2S by Accuro pump, Standard Test Method for API gravity of crude petroleum (hydrometer method). Drilling Fluids Engineer (February 2012 - October 2013) Halliburton Baroid Mexico

Main responsibilities:

• Reviewing fluids program in order to prepare orders and mixing plans.

• Pointing out procedures for mixing and handling of chemical products.

• Gathering samples and performing complete tests using Fann equipment to determine trends and identify contaminants in oil based mud and water based mud.

• Recording test results to identify trends.

• Interpreting property-test data to establish required treatment or action.

• Determine cause of fluid, hole, or system problems to assist in treatment recommendation.

• Determine chemical treatments required to optimize drilling parameters.

• Advising clients on potential treatments or improvements to the fluid system based on data analysis and mud testing.

• Recommending solids-control processes to ensure economic removal.

• Supervise rig personnel performing chemical additions and recording drilling fluid parameters.

• Managing product inventory to ensure availability.

• Maintaining required environmental discharge and consumption records.

• Monitoring daily drilling operations to reduce or eliminate problems associated with drilling fluids.

• Running laboratory fluid formulations to determine the fluid performance before and after being exposed to high temperature and high pressure, design of fluids formulations with enhanced performance. Data and Mud Logger/Well Testing Engineer (October 2010 - February 2012) Diversified Well Logging Mexico

Project Manager (July 2009 - November 2009)

Mexichem Mexico

I worked as a member of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate the technical and financial viability of making and running a monochloroacetic acid pilot plant.
